I've had to restart my subscription so many times, I'm beginning to doubt my ability to do this. I hope there are some others out there starting today who might join me on this thread....

Today's my Day #1....again.

Hi! This is Day 5 of my first time. So far it's going great. No headaches, no weird feelings. I've noticed a lot of people are starting over. I'm just curious.. What happens that makes you have to start over? I do find I want to push some little kids down and steal their ice cream but have refrained so far. Why don't you think you can do it Sarah? yes you can!!!!

Sarah I have had the same problem......x3:(  I was on day 14 when I went off. I was doing so good and my son had a tournament out of town which made it very difficult to stay on track. One big house, 2 moms 4 dads and 14 teenagers to feed on a budget, we were feeding them after their games at midnight!!

Now I understand when everyone says its worth it! I was in a daze for 2 days and I felt just  the way I did before I started  the first attempt. I was amazed how eating so clean changed my energy and my skin. I have really bad eczema and it was almost gone, after the 3 days of eating not so clean... my eczema flared up and I am back on steroids:(

I will re-start with you!

Thanks so much for the replies! This forum really helps. My husband is supportive and believes that this will be a healthy change for me, but he's not doing it with me, so it's hard to commiserate.

Jaydee, I hope your change in plans didn't cause you any trouble yesterday. I'm sure you managed it well, based on the confidence in your post!

Nettiegirl, I don't think everyone struggles with the same demons as I do. I think I have some psychological/emotional attachments to certain foods/ways of eating, and I need to get to the bottom of those. This process is helping, and with each re-start I've found I have more confidence that I can (and need to) do this. This forum has been a big help.

Gabenick2, I'm glad to read yet another account of how this program works. I am sure that the health impact will be real and will be systemic. Eczema is a good example of a systemic problem that I believe this can help way better than any drugs. Now, when I watch TV and see ads for so many pharmaceutical drugs, I really think that so many of those problems (sleep trouble, dry eyes, depression, psoriasis, RA, etc., etc., etc.) would be more successfully handled with this diet. With prescription drugs, people just add more chemicals to their systems, mask their symptoms, and end up dealing with a bunch of side effects. I do believe that sometimes medicine is necessary and is very important, but I think eating right greatly reduces that need.

I've read ISWF, and I think it makes a lot of sense. Even after 5 or 6 days of strict Whole30 eating, I could feel the difference, and it makes me realize that I don't really even want the foods that I'm giving up. I'm gradually breaking some fairly deeply ingrained habits and emotional attachments to foods and to the rituals surrounding eating. It may take some time and even a few more restarts, but I believe in this, and I know my long-term health depends on it!

Thanks again!

I think eating non-compliant foods means you should restart (in most instances), some people restart because they find themselves snacking too much, or eating too many fruits/nut butters - things that are technically compliant but not really in spirit of the whole 30.
