Nicole Lynn Jennings
So, how are you gaining muscle on paleo? How often are you lifting/doing cardio? What do your meals typically look like for a day? I currently lift four days a week, in the 6-10 rep range and have gained 8 lbs in four months. I'm sure some of its fat, but I only gained an inch on my belly so im happy about that! I'm thinking I want to decrease my frequency to three days a week. My goal is to gain at least another 6 lbs. What do you all suggest?
amberino21
Eating! Resting! Quitting cardio! Is there a reason you want to do less? We did Ben Pakulski's MI40 program recently and made great gains. It was hard work, but worth it! (We weren't doing whole 30/paleo though, but still eating well....would be interesting to do it again and see the difference) Eating - do lots of it! You may need to eat a bit more frequently to get in more calories. Definitely utilise pre and post WO meals. Plenty of starchy carbs after training will help muscle growth and repair. praxisproject
Less cardio, make sure you get enough protein and allow proper recovery time. I like lots of leg squats. I do a lot more reps, but I'm trying to lose weight while maintaining my muscle mass. Quality protein helps, organic if you can get it, skip the cured meats as much as you can. Free range eggs Same goes for fats and Vitamin D3 & Magnesium. Lots of things needed to keep cells ticking over at their best.
