Jenny C.
Some weeks of your life go by so fast that you sort of feel like you missed it. This is definitely NOT one of those weeks. Each day has felt like a week of its own. I definitely still feel worse on the Whole30 than off. I know it will get better, though! But I have been thinking about the idea of "patience." Patience Patience is really about waiting for something that you know will come. Like you have to be patient when you're waiting for a long-awaited (and planned) vacation. Or you have to be patient when you're waiting for a baby to be born. You know it's coming. You just have to wait... Anxiety Anxiety may not be the opposite of patience in most cases, but it may be here. Anxiety is about wondering whether something will happen. Will someone call and offer me the job I interviewed for? Will we get an offer on our house that won't result in us losing a ton of money? And the biggest one of all -- will I experience similar benefits that other people have experienced while on the Whole30 program, or will I be the anomaly? I think my biggest concern right now is that my brain fog has gotten a bit worse since I started this. Not better. I didn't expect that. Did anyone feel WORSE during the first week or two of the Whole30 than they did before starting it?? (I don't normally consider myself to be a high-maintenance person. But man have I relied on this forum for reassurance and confidence boosts this week. I'm so grateful that it's here. )
Colleen Roy
Have you read ISWF? It clearly outlines the days and weeks and what to expect. There is also a great blog post about it. Your experiences sound pretty normal for the first week. Check out that blog post and read ISWF (if you haven't yet). Patience grasshopper. It will happen. amberino21
Do you read and post in a thread on this forum with people who started around the same date as you? That's a great place for support and to see that most people go through the same things!
GFChris
This is the Whole30 timeline of what to expect as you move through the program: http://whole9life.com/2012/06/the-whole30-timeline/ As others have said, you're currently pretty consistent with the timeline expectations. Hang in there! One day at a time, one meal at a time. Stay present to each meal and enjoy what you're eating.
