Starting Aug 5

Hi everyone.  I wanted to introduce myself and commit to starting my Whole30 soon.  I'm really excited about it and wish I could start sooner.

My name is Kristan, I'm a 30 year old married, stay-at-home mom to a 2 year old (almost 3) boy.  I fully admit the initial reason for doing this Whole30 was to see if I can lose weight with it.  However, after doing so much research, I've realized that I'm really more excited for all the other benefits.  I've had skin issues for as long as I can remember, and I've battled depression and low energy my entire adult life.  I've even had some weird auto-immune issues with an iffy diagnosis.  I'm feeling optimistic that the Whole30 is going to shed some light in these areas.

Since Christmas 2012, I've been consistently working out (6 days a week for the first few months, 3-4 days a week currently).  Lots of strength training and some cardio.  I haven't lost a single pound.  I haven't gone down a single size.  I'm sure it's because, though my workouts had been consistent, my eating hadn't been consistently stellar.

One more thing to note, since July 22 I've been eating as "paleo" as possible and will continue until my official start date.  I'm travelling Aug 2-4, so I didn't want to set myself up for "failure" by starting my Whole30 before that.  Since I had some "time to kill" before officially starting, I decided I'd do "paleo lite" to use up what I could of the better food options I had in my home instead of wasting it (for example bacon with added sugar).  Maybe this will make the transition into my Whole30 a little easier?  Not sure, but I figured it couldn't hurt one bit.

If you've stuck with me this long, I thank you!  I hope to get to know y'all and make some great friends on this journey.

That's one thing about exercise we found for sure in our household:  we can't run off a regular dose of pizza and hot wings.  In Rob Wolfs "Paleo Solution" he mentions that our health is only 20% exercise and the rest is how we eat and sleep.  Wow!  Good to see you got a jump start on Paleo!  We need to get better about that.   Cheers to a healthy August!

Thank you!  I've "dieted" all my life, so I think I haven't been eating enough, and what I was eating wasn't good, real food.  Not even much typical junk food, but just low fat, low cal stuff.  Happy, healthy August to you as well!
