My name is Ann. I am on day 7 and have just signed up for the forum. I miss my morning coffee with creamer and cheese the most. It's been a very busy 7 days so no real downtime to sit around craving food which is why I chose this time for my 30 days. I am feeling good, not hungry, more tired than anything but sleeping well at night. I feel like I'm constantly preparing and planning foods, reading labels and dreading meals out (which I haven't tried yet).

Wondering how folks do when eating out? That is always my weakness. At home I'm fine if things are prepared. At work I bring food from home. Dining out is another issue, still scared to try it.

Thanks for any help you can give and I sure enjoy reading the posts to see how others are feeling.

Hi Ann.  Today is my day 7 as well. I feel fine and have been strict, meaning I haven't knowingly gone off plan.  I had canadian bacon the first two days, then read the label and found added sugar so I dropped that.  I am hoping by August 1 to have all the kinks worked out, like portions and snacking. It will help to go back to work on Monday, the structure of my day makes it easier to not look for snacks between meals.  I have been off work but just at home for the past two weeks.  I did have dinner out last week at a pizza place, had a big salad with shrimp for protein and oil/vinegar on the side.  Worked out okay and I have another dinner out on Thursday.  Don't be afraid to eat out, check the menu online before you go if you can, that always helps me.

I think the thing I'm happiest about is not stepping on the scale..Well I did the second day, out of habit I think, and I haven't done it again since then and don't plan on it till the end.  I look forward to hearing how it goes for you over the next week.

I did the same with bacon! My errors haven't been intentional though and I'm really feeling good too. I weigh daily usually and it's nice to take a break from the scale for a month. I also debated recording my foods on My fitness pal and just figured that would make it more complicated. I always wonder how many calories I'm really getting, not used to eating when hungry. My salad dressing has been vinegar & oil but I sure miss Good seasons! My work routine has been very helpful and my co-worker is on vacation this week so I have extra hours. Thanks for responding and I'd love to keep in touch,

Ann

Still looking for a nice coffee creamer but ended up buying sugar free coconut milk. Takes the bitterness out of black coffee for me. I also bought some coconut aminos so I could have stir-fry. Instead of putting the chicken and veggies over rice, I put it over fresh from the garden cooked green beans. I found Lara bars at the health food store and tried a key lime one since it looked clean. Only ate 1/2 but it was really good. Too good, will have to keep them for emergencies only.

Day 8 for me, feeling very energized today. I even worked out this morning before work.

Hey Ann, I gave up on creamers sadly and for now I'm drinking iced coffee black.  I really prefer cream and sugar but did not really care for any of the substitutions.  Energy level is fine and I even worked out twice today, but I'm on vacation so I have a lot of time on my hands.  I am having dinner out tomorrow and that might be a challenge. We were supposed to go out to eat but now we are eating at my sisters and I have no idea what's cooking. I'll check with her tomorrow.

I'm feeling so good with so much energy I'm afraid to say it out loud and jinx myself! We stopped at McDonald's this morning so BF could get an egg McMuffin, hash browns, juice and I looked at the food like it was poison! haha! I ordered nothing, no cravings at all. I'm really surprised at the no cravings.

Capris are feeling a little loose today. I have a lot of weight to lose and its hard not weighing but worth the wait. Its no longer about losing weight but I feel so awake and energized now that I really don't want to return to the way I used to eat and the sluggish feeling that goes along with that.

Ordered a primal pack today for trips. I have a little trip on 8/16, just overnight but I want to be prepared.

Good luck eating at your sisters. My sis made brownies with M & Ms in them but I walked away!

You sound like you are doing great and staying focused! I just left my sisters house and I did great, my brother in law poured me a glass of wine and I just left it and drank water. So yay me!

I go back to work next week and I picked up a bunch of overtime, so I will be very busy all through August which makes staying strict easier for me. So glad to hear about your good results, it's a great way to stay motivated.

How was your weekend? Is your name Jaydee? sometimes those are not names, like my sign on is amstone but that's my initials & last name.

My w/end went well, it was nice to be off work finally. I made some pork roast & sauerkraut in the crock pot and I've been experimenting with vinegar, oil & guacamole for a salad dressing. No cravings at all and still so much energy. I'm speechless, really love feeling so good. I used to try and do everything in the mornings since I was exhausted by afternoon. I used to think it was my weight and beta blocker med I'm on for b/p but now I'm convinced it was the food.

My sisters and mom went to Golden Corral Saturday and I opted not to go. I hate to pay for a buffet and just eat salad & chicken. Too early in the game for a buffet with desserts for me. My BF Eric and I are going to Smokey Bones tonight, (first meal out) cause I know I can order salmon & broccoli and he will be supportive.

Sounds like you did great at your sister's house. Walked away from a glass of wine, that's great!

This is so helpful to have someone on the same start date. I'm also writing down how I feel in a book here at home. I read back & saw that the energy kicked in on day 7 I believe. So far it hasn't left me!

It's back to work for me today and I spent a few hours yesterday prepping food for the week. I have my vegetables for breakfast all chopped and ready to go and four containers of mixed greens that I have to add protein and fat to.  I also cooked a turkey yesterday and roasted some vegetables to re-heat when I don't have time.  Cravings have not been a problem for me either, but i usually don't have cravings anyway. My issues have always been cheat meals turning into cheat days that last a weekend until I start feeling crappy and have to reel it back in again.

Over the past three years I have lost over thirty pounds and occasionally creep up by about 8 pounds before I get myself back on track.  I can tell by how my scrubs fit today that I am down a little bit, plus I feel great. I think you made a good decision to skip Golden Corral, no good can come from that! I haven't been to Smokey Bones in a while, that sounds good to me.

I know it's early but I am already worrying/planning the re-intro stage and how to prevent myself from going too far off-plan.

How are you doing? Day 16! Over halfway through. Its getting easier as time goes by. No cravings and still lots of energy. Had lunch out today & chose Chipotle Grill where I had the salad with chicken, guac and salsa. I later saw the guac had some bacon, grrrr...... Oh well. No salad dressing, didn't need it. It was a good & filling lunch. The meeting I went to provided lunch but its always sandwiches & chips. Meeting day 2 is tomorrow and I'm bringing my own cooler of food in my car.

I ordered some primal packs, ghee and lara key lime bars for hunger emergencies but I haven't needed much yet. I tried the ghee on a baked sweet potato and it was heaven. Expensive but I think I'll only use it on sweet potato since we can't have popcorn.

I'm also thinking about re-entry and trying to read that chapter in the book. I'll probably switch to coconut or almond milk since I didn't do much milk anyway, just on cereal which I probably won't eat again. I really love all this energy and hopefully I'm losing weight so I don't want to jinx it. It's not hard, just need to be prepared. I have a friend who started it 3 days ago & she just told me she is going to do Atkins instead for more food choices! Gotta make it past the first week.

So far so good, I had some inner turmoil today about wanting a triple espresso with alot of sugar in it, but I let the moment pass. Some of my co-workers were sharing a big piece of chocolate cake today and that didn't affect me at all.  I guess it's kind of random when the brain decides it wants something.

I have several friends doing various eating plans including WW, vegan, and clean eating.  We have some interesting conversations about who eats what and why.  As much as I want to stay focused on feeling better (because I do), I'm not going to lie and say I won't be disappointed if a few extra pounds don't get lost.  Or inches, that would be good too.

 Keep up the good work!

I agree, it is strange to walk away from cake, cookies, etc. The only real trouble I had was eating out where the food is just everywhere. My house is much safer.

I tried WW and I was starving. Nervous about 8/22 when we can add foods. I really want to stay with clean foods since I feel so good. This 30 day experiment has been great. I feel yrs. younger and lbs. lighter (but I don't look it, yet....)

As soon as I mention no sugar or sweetener, most of my friends will stop me and say they can't do that. I just think of how I used to do the same thing. Now I want to say "you can do it, but you choose not to do it...."

Hope I can keep eating this way for ever......

Have a great week, we'll keep in touch,

Ann
