Drink Coffee You Can Sleep When You're Dead!
Hi All, Starting today...well properly and consistently anyway...I already eat mostly like this so it's not a huge change (minus the paleo muffins, raw fruit and nut balls and some dark chocolate!). Here is my issue: I am breastfeeding a new baby who reacts when I eat any "windy" veges such as onion, garlic, brocolli, cauliflower, beans, peas, etc, she also reacts to egg. I can't eat too much fruit or dried fruit as it feeds (sorry guys) breastfeeding thrush which we are prone to. I am extra hungry because I'm breastfeeding. Any ideas of what I can fill up on? Like heavy, dense foods that will leave me satisfied and not hungry. Getting a bit over soup and chicken with avocado (yes, you can have too much of those!). Interested to know what others are filling up on, also interested to know what people use to thicken slow cooked meals (I usually use a little corn flour). Thanks:)
HopelessDreamer
you need to eat fat and protein to feel full. add some sweet potatoes if they are tolerated. and winter squash, or canned pumpkin. those are good carbs and you need some. also, sweet potatoes can be added to slow cooked meals, although I am not sure why you need to thicken food. maybe just add some bones, and the natural gelatin will help thicken? Drink Coffee You Can Sleep When You're Dead!
Thank you for the advice. Yes I do eat sweet potato mash a lot. In terms of thicken I mean to make the sauce a bit more like gravy rather than watery (I usually lightly coat the meat in corn flour). Even with home made stock I find it isn't as nice!!What easy to prepare protein are you having?
amberino21
Osso bucco, chili con carne, bolognaise, curries can all be made in advance, and are filling, and you don't need to use the vegies that cause issues! I never add thickeners, i just let things simmer for a long time. Adding starchy vegies often helps thicken dishes too Make sure you're eating more - bf women should have 4 (or more) meals!
