pDc 1
What do you sub tortilla chips with for eating salsa and/or guacamole?
amberino21 1760
Vegetables...
pDc 1
Vegetables as a scoop? Or with salsa spread on top and eaten with a fork? I've tried cucumbers as a scoop, and it's just not the same.
Roz Griffiths 715
Carrot sticks, celery, slices of pepper... Worth experimenting with different veg - i made sweet potato hummus & it was ho-hum with carrot sticks, meh with peppers, but really nice with sticks of cucumber!
Moderators Tom Denham 10042 Posted August 2, 2013 Moderators Share Posted August 2, 2013 Neither tortilla chips or salsa/guacamole are necessary. You don't need substitutes. Seriously, if you try to maintain your old eating habits, you are likely to succeed and consequently fail to establish a new relationship with food.
Roz Griffiths 715
That's reminded me, although i made sweet potato hummus, i ended up throwing quite a lot of it away because there wasn't room in my day to actually eat it!
Roz Griffiths 715
...oh, and i made my own salsa & eat it on bolognese or at breakfast :-)

I love putting guac on my eggs or burgers or as a salad topping...or simpling dipping into it with a spoon
pDc 1
Ok, on burgers.... THAT sounds doable! What else could you spread it on besides meat and eggs? What kind of veggies? Sauteed/grilled or raw? joolie, by salad, do you mean leafy-greens?
amberino21 1760
just blob it on to whatever meal you're having and mix it up
SpinSpin 1948
I like to use avocado as a binder for egg salad so you could do the same with guac.
Bet 653
I used to add guacamole (really just avacado and a bit of garlic) to a can of salmon and have that as lunch. It was yummy.
