MariolaDJ
I've read that carnitas at Chipotle is the only compliant meat for a Whole30. I checked out the website and it says "Sunflower oil" in the ingredients. I know seed oils aren't ideal so am wondering if anyone knows if Chipotle changed the formula since the last time this topic was posted. Here's a link to the ingredients page I'm referring to: http://www.chipotle.com/en-us/menu/ingredients_statement/ingredients_statement.aspx Thanks!! ErinK
Sunflower oil is allowed because people need to dine out sometimes and there generally isn't another option for cooking oil when you dine out but it's recommended to only have it in moderation. Jtandi
I know this is sad but they now use a soybean oil blend...I wouldn't worry about it but for next time...I did eat Chipotle during my whole30 and had no negative effects, then I heard about this... JackieK1217
The allergan menu says all their meat has soy in it
Guest
As I had posted in the other thread, and as the menu sort of shows, not all Chipotles are created equal. Some use soy, or rice bran oil. Because of this lack of uniformity, ask a manager at the Chipotle of your choice. While, it may say that the carnitas do not have soy, some do seem to be heating on a soy coated grill. Pretty sure rice bran wouldn't work either.
MariolaDJ
Good to know! Last time I did a W30 in January, I read the forums saying carnitas was an ok. Now, it seems it's best to stay away unless it's an emergency meal if I can't get home in time. Thanks everyone for your input!
