SimoneB
Hi, I'm on day 17 of my first Whole30 and I have been very strict, didn't cheat once and didn't eat any weird stuff. However, since maybe two days I am getting a rash on my arms and in my neck.... It looks like the kind of eczema I used to have ages ago but what disappeared. I'm not to thrilled that is seems to be coming back... I have no idea what is causing it and was wondering if I should be worried or is that a normal side effect at this stage? Thanks! Moderators Tom Denham Posted August 8, 2013 Moderators Share Posted August 8, 2013 Rashes are not normal. I'm sorry you are having this experience.
Ravin
Do you know what used to trigger it? Is there any particular food you've been eating a lot more of that might be allergenic for you (eggs perhaps?) Have you had a change in the weather or in the kind of soaps and detergents you've been using?
SimoneB
No Ravin, I didn't change anything in terms of soaps and detergent. Obviously I am eating differently but the one thing I didn't use so much is coconut oil. So that might be the problem. I am trying to test it now by using less coconut products. And I did eat eggs before but in a smaller amount. Not sure if those are the issue but that is the only thing that has changed as far as I can recall! Roz Griffiths
I would cut out coconut oil for, say, a week & see if that makes a difference. Lots of people are sensitive to coconut. You can cook with lard, tallow, duck or goose fat & bacon fat for high temperatures, & olive oil for low temperatures.
