zfouant
I just bought the "It Starts with Food" cookbook, but it has recipes in it that contain ingredients that are listed as taboo in the first 30 days - such as parmesan cheese, almond flour, canola oil Am I misunderstanding the book - I thought these items were not allowed until later. Colleen Roy
That's because you bought the wrong book! It is NOT whole30 approved, nor is it compliant! I'd return it if you can. Sorry! If you are looking for an awesome cook book that has great recipes, try Well Fed. Fantastic and whole30 compliant!
Moderators Tom Denham Posted August 10, 2013 Moderators Share Posted August 10, 2013 The book you are talking about is the work of a rip-off artist who is trying to cash in on the popularity of It Starts with Food by Dallas and Melissa Hartwig. That book has nothing to do with the Hartwigs, the Whole30, the Whole9, honesty, or integrity.
zfouant
Thanks! I really want to do this the right way, so that helps a lot. I'll check out the site and the "Well Fed, Fantasatic and whole 30 compliant" book.
amberino21
Hehe - the book is "well fed"! (And Colleen meant the book is fantastic and compliant!)
Delaine Ross
Well Fed also gets my vote, as does Paleo Comfort Foods. There is also a great site with a section of Whole30 Approved recipes: http://www.thefoodee.com/
GFChris
Yes, Well Fed by Melissa Joulwan is a terrific cookbook.
