Just sticking to 3 meals, no pre- or post- meal/snacks. Ok??

Hi! I'm on day 5 and feeling ok. I usually work out for an hour (either Crossfit, a run, or an hour-long cardio weights class) around 5:30am. I'm finding it hard to pre-manage my meals due to work, family, etc. (I know, not good excuses but I'm doing my best!) so I've been sticking to the three meals following the template and guidelines, and that's about it. I work out, come home, and eat breakfast about 15-30 after the workout, then I go on with my day. Is this acceptable? I know it's easy to have a quick snack before the workout but I find if I start to eat beforehand, I crave more food and just end up wanting to eat/snack. Any feedback or suggestions are appreciated!

Also, on an odd day, I sometimes don't get my workout in until about 10am, so I eat breakfast at 7, then do my workout at 10, then just eat lunch right after. Is this ok? I do find on these days I need a snack around 4pm before eating dinner. I try to keep it at a piece of protein and a few nuts or some veggie slices.

Thanks!!

I personally don't really follow the Pre/Post WO stuff because of how everything ends up fitting into my schedule and because I personally find it hard to digest food that I eat within 30 mins of a workout (on either end). The exception is that if I workout first thing in the AM I try to eat something like a couple of eggs before I go out. Eating within an hour of waking is ideal for hormone balancing. I do allow for either larger meals or a mini meal on the big workout days though as I know I need the extra calories so make that 4pm snack a mini meal (follow the template just smaller).

Thank you! I'm impressed you eat eggs before a workout. I can just imagine burping that up during some burpees.... yikes!

Well the only time I eat directly before a workout is if I run first thing in the AM to avoid the heat and even then I eat, then get dressed/gather stuff, and then go out. Generally it is fine in my tummy if I only have a couple.
