20 mile training run

I have my 20-miler this weekend, on Saturday --- wondering when I should start carb-loading with the starchy veg's prior to this (& on race day)? I'm thinking at least tomorrow, if not tonight, with maybe 1/2 sweet potato at each meal. I want to start enough in advance that I reap the benefits but not too soon that I have a negative effect of over-eating starchy veg's.

The conventional wisdom I've been reading lately seems to say to load up the night before the night before and go easy the day before to get your stores up without putting yourself in potential digestive stress on race day. I think there was an article that addressed that in Runner's World recently actually.
