Ground Beef options

Most any ground beef is okay. Grass-fed is good, but not necessary. You can have any percent of fat/lean in the store. Ground beef is your friend. You can make burgers, meatballs, stir-fry it with veggies.

There is no wrong type.  Buy the best, cleanest meat you can afford.  Grass-fed is preferred, because of the lack of hormones and antibiotics in the feed, but conventional ground beef is also compliant.  I mostly use regular ground beef, because I don't have access to fresh ground, grass-fed beef, and the stuff in the little vacuum bricks is so compacted that it is too tough to crumble for use in recipes.  I just make sure to drain my conventional beef well, as a lot of the nasties can wind up in the fat.

I don't buy mince (ground beef)....I buy meat and make my own in the food processor :) that way I know what's in it - lots of the mince here seems to have "stuff" added, and I don't think there's much, if any, grass fed available easily. I can get plenty of bits of good meat though!
