Psirene
I usually use almond milk in my morning tea, plus in recipes as needed (very rarely do I just drink a cup of almond milk). So I figured I'd just give it up for my whole30. I did find that Whole Food's 365 almond milk lacks carageenan, but still seemed pretty processy. Then my brain dredged up something I'd seen awhile ago - almond milk made from almond butter. Most websites seem to say 1 cup of water to 1 Tablespoon of almond butter, give or take (just google "almond milk from almond butter"). Some people add sweetener (not whole30 approved, obviously), most add a little salt. I wanted to share with you all, in case you're in a pinch and need something milk-like. amberino21
I have been doing something similar, but with coconut butter - I skip the making it into milk part though, I just whiz my tea or coffee in the blender with a bit of coconut butter it makes it frothy too! Psirene
After a bit of experimentation, raw almond butter may work a little better than roasted, unless you're using it for baking or something that could use the little bit of oomph that roasted gives.
