rollo
So I remember reading the ingredients and thinking yeah, this hot dog is fine. But after I ate one, I re-read again, and now I'm worried I screwed up somehow. Ingredients: Beef and Pork, Water. Contains Less Than 2% Of The Following: Sea Salt, Paprika, Spices, Garlic, Onion, Celery Powder, Lamb Casing. I guess it's the lamb casing that worries me. here's a link: http://www.applegate.com/products/natural-big-apple-hot-dog Is this compliant or non? Thanks! rollo
To add - I've seen other posts about Applegate hot dogs, but they weren't this exact one. If there was a post about this specific one of Applegate's, then I missesd it.
AmyS
I eat them. What is it about the lamb casing that worries you? All of the ingredients are Whole30 compliant. Lamb casing is compliant (curious about what you would think would make it not compliant though).
rollo
Thanks, AmyS! Mainly a lack of ignorance on my part.

AmyS
Thanks, AmyS! Mainly a lack of ignorance on my part. This is exactly right. You have a lack of ignorance. Which is to say, you ate a compliant hot dog, so you lacked the ignorance that would have prevented you from eating it. Then YAY! on to day 5! Woot! Moderators Tom Denham Posted August 27, 2013 Moderators Share Posted August 27, 2013 I am pretty sure lamb casings means sheep intestines, which are absolutely Whole30-approved.

SpinSpin
Yep! Natural casings are intestines-- Lamb for hot dogs and breakfast sausage links, pork for salami and pepperoni sized sausages and beef for bologna and mortadella --the big sausages! just for size/usage references!
