NineDogCircus
In late September, I have to travel for a family business weekend. On Saturday, we will be in meetings all day and then go straight to an outing. I was told that the site for the outing will be serving pizza (regular and gluten free), that this is the only food they have, and they do not allow any outside food. I will be done with my Whole30 on September 10, but things have been going so well, I do not plan on ruining all the progress I've made with pizza (even if it gluten free)!! Besides stopping and getting a salad on the way and eating it in the car, does anyone have any other suggestions about how to handle this situation? I'm afraid that if I don't eat beforehand, the temptation of pizza (when hungry) might be too irresistible. Thanks.
Moderators Tom Denham Posted August 27, 2013 Moderators Share Posted August 27, 2013 I like your idea of eating in advance. Eating some canned salmon or tuna should satisfy you for several hours and make coping with sad choices easier.
Emily T
Sneak in a snack. They can't forbid you from bringing in some almonds!
srice11
If it were me, I'd be a little rebel. I'd throw a paleokit in my purse and eat it.
sheba-kitty
Seems odd that they wouldn't also have some salads to offer. Can you call the restaurant and check?
holly262
I would take in food anyway. You can always say you are lactose intolerant, or even on a doctor prescribed diet. They can't argue with that.
NineDogCircus
It's not a restaurant, it's a Trampoline Park...that apparently only serves Pizza! Anyway, thanks, just like the movie theater, I'll plan to eat ahead and sneak in a snack!
sheba-kitty
Let us know how it goes. And write a review of the park (on yelp or their website) with feedback that they need to offer healthy foods! Trampoline is exercise so it seems like they should support healthy eating. I love pizza, but it is the antithesis of healthy!
Elizabeth DeCorso Windel
I would just eat beforehand and then sneak some sort of snack in. If they question you, just say you have severe food allergies. I have definitely snuck in snacks many times and haven't ever had anyone comment on it. pjena
We have a trampoline park that also usually says no outside food (as well as a bunch of other places that frequently have birthday parties), but when I called and let them know the list of my son's allergies, they let me bring food for him. I wouldn't bother to sneak it in. I'd just bring it in and if asked, explain that you don't eat (insert list here).
