KDro123
Today I started to reintroduce dairy. Before Whole30 I had dairy every day and never thought I had a problem with it...until this morning. I started with a bit of 2% milk in my morning coffee. At lunch I had a Fage yogurt with blueberries. The gut and intestinal reaction occurred within an hour...lots of intense cramping and time spent in the bathroom Has anyone else experienced such a quick response from their body? GFChris
Yup. - When I reintroduced risotto, got a stomach ache within 15 minutes after finishing my meal. (And this was just a side of risotto with a main veal dish.)- When I reintroduced dairy, within 4 hours after having a piece of havarti cheese at lunch, I had a stomach ache. Also got a mild stomach ache after having about a tablespoon of goat cheese a few weeks later.
Carlaccini
Yes. I made whipping cream for a dessert I made. I licked the spatula. Just licked it. Then about 1/2 hour later had one of the worst bouts of gas in a long time. Followed by a pretty intense quick exit an hour or 2 later.
Ravin
Lactose. I would do a trial of just naturally low-lactose dairy foods: full fat yogurt, raw milk if you can get it, hard cheese (aged from raw milk), from pastured cows. Industrial dairy products and traditional ones are not equal nutritionally or in how readily they're digested.
Evalily
Casein! I already knew I had a problem. If you have any problems with casein, any low fat milk is going to really wreak havoc, as will hard cheeses. I had probs with hard cheeses before (immediate sweat in and around the eyes and temples), however, a few faves which seemed ok before are not definitely NOT ok. I can cope with A2 milk (in small doses), natural Greek Yoghurt in a smoothie, a little cream, butter, feta cheese, basically any of the white fresh cheese seem ok.
