Breastfeeding and avoiding cruciferous veggies

Recommended Posts

Hi!  I am aware of the Kellymom/La Leche, etc. info that cruciferous veggies don't bother babies.  My midwife, however, has told me to limit cabbage, brussels sprouts, broccoli, cauliflower, onions, etc.  While I have been avoiding them for 3.5 months, I am curious about others experiences with eating them while breastfeeding.  Do they bother your babes?  I want to say again that I am aware of the advice given by Kellymom and La Leche that it doesn't matter.

I just miss those veggies so much and am tired of mixed greens, kale, summer squash, tomatoes, cucumber, etc.

Is anyone else out there avoiding that stuff?  I totally love and trust my midwife, as she has many many years of experience.

Thanks!

The only thing my baby had an issue with was dairy. We had no trouble with any of the others, although I rarely ate cabbage. I would introduce each one back into your diet slowly and see what happens.
