Susanincavecreek
I'm glad we started today, it seemed like we spent the entire morning cooking to have meals ready for the week. We both work from home and seem to snack more than we knew. Looking forward to feeling better, still need to get on the scale today......I know have an Office Space party and take it out. Looking for any feedback and encouragement from the crew. Missing the wine already....just tell me it will be ok. Nothing better than a glass of wine at the end of the day. We might try swimming tonight, it's been a really hot day and hard to go for a walk with the heat and humidity. I know get the Wii fixed and do the Zumba tape. Michele West
My husband and I are starting tomorrow! This will be "take 2" for me. I made it to Day 21 last time. A not very good sugar cookie knocked me off track the last go round. It will not happen again;) I hit Trader Joe's today, made up a batch of sweet potato, mushroom, bell pepper and onion hash and hard boiled up some eggs. I need to pick up some extra light oilve oil to make mayonaise tomorrow and a few other items to round out our menu for the week. It was hard to give up the wine for me as well and I'm anticipating the same feeling this time! It does get easier though! Do you subscribe to the daily e-mails? They really, really help. I keep repeating to myself that it's only 30 days!
Jojo
Hello, My husband and I started today as well. We also spent the day getting ready and made an awesome first dinner in the crockpot. I made it to Day28 last year, but stopped for Swedish meatballs on Christmas and then got off the band wagon. I continued to eat relatively compliant up until our wedding in July. More than losing weight (which was a nice bonus), I felt like a million bucks. My skin clearned up and my complexion was glowing. My digestive track was very happy as well Letting the wine go (for me, hard apple cider), is not an easy task, but finding other good drinks helped. We love Coconut LaCroix water and got really into different kombuchas. Best of luck to you guys. It's nice to be back on the forum and know that support is out there! Chica2543
Hello, My husband and I started today as well!!! We've made it up to day 9 last time and fell off the wagon because of me I thought I really 'needed' that chocolate and he cheated with me (I kind-a-made-him I'm such a junk). We started again today. Letting go of my smoking habit is difficult for me but the cravings I get for a cig makes me want to have/need sugar instead. Instead I got to deal with the craving / emotion instead of the cig /sug. It'll be difficult but I'm going for it. I want to be and feel healthy! Like Michele says; it's only 30 days ...
Bet
We started yesterday as well. I did a W30 a few weeks ago. I did miss wine, mostly on Friday nights or when having a good steak or lamb. But after the W30, I had some and it wasn't as great as I remembered. I think there is a lot to the psychological aspect of this. You tell yourself all day, 'Ii will have a glass of wine tonight (or 2!)' and it becomes something you think you need or deserve. So far hubby likes sweet potatoes and coconut milk in coffee. He is home this week, and bought himself a bunch of kale and collards to have for breakfast and lunch. I'm hoping he can break his potato chip obsession for good. sallyarchi
There are a few of us wine lovers out there. I found a forum for us and it helped. I NEVER in a million years thought I could give up my daily wine habit. I am now on day 15!!! Like a previous post said, I kept telling myself it is only 30 days. I am doing this with my co worker who also loves her wine and that has helped. I focus on how I feel in the morning and how I slept....sleeping like a baby. You can do this. It is sooooo worth it. I also reminded myself that people all over the world are doing this. There is no reason why I cannot also. It is not easy during those first 10 days or so, but you can do this!
