Super excited to start today!  My challenges are, that I am so new to the program period and I tend to over think what I am suppose to be eating.  I get the jist of it...I am just such a newbie and the hidden evils in food are what I am concerned about.  Wish me luck!

Today is the first day of my second whole 30, and this time, I'm better prepared. I roasted two chickens last night - the meat is in the fridge and the bones are simmering in the stockpot. I've got a pot roast in the crock pot, and a stockpile of veggies, coconut milk, coconut oil, and coconut butter! My experience last time was, everything was cool as long as I had food in the house. Best wishes, everybody; you got this :)

Noveez, yeah, pretty much. Eat three meals, try not to snack unless you're pregnant/breastfeeding or you do intensive workouts. Don't weigh yourself except before and after, and don't make treats like cookies even using approved foods. There's a book, It Starts with Food, that gives you the logic behind it all.

I'm thinking about starting the Whole 30... To start on the Whole 30 do you "just" stop eating the items on the "do not eat" list?

yes and no - i'd suggest reading a lot to get a good understanding of what the whole 30 is, and what you do!

here is probably a good place to start : http://whole9life.com/category/whole-30/

there is also the book, but you don't have to read the book to get a good understanding of the program.

like Natalie mentioned, eat 3 meals a day - these meals should all fit the whole 30 meal template, incorporating protein, vegies to fill the rest of your plate and then fat. snack only if you're starving, again, your snack should be a mini meal that fits the template. if you're exercising, pre and post WO meals can also be included.

there is also an emotional/mental part of the whole 30 - it is trying to get us to largely disassociate ourselves with food in an emotional sense, to stop the mindless eating, the "no brakes" foods etc. you will become more in tune with your body's actual needs. you're also asked to not weigh/measure/calculate anything - yourself or your food - for the 30 days. is the number on the scale important? not really - body composition can vary massively without seeing that number change! does a certain number make you a better person? nope! should you be fretting over whether you had 1/2 tablespoon extra mayo on your lunch? no...your body will tell you when enough is enough! :)
