sheba-kitty
Welcome! Remember you don't have to lose it all before you start being a triathlete. I did my 7th sprint triathlon this year and sadly I am at my highest weight ever. But almost done with my first whole30 and I know I am moving the scale in the right direction. A fun book to read is the Slow Fat Triathlete: Live Your Athletic Dreams in the Body You Have Now by Jayne Williams Link: http://amzn.com/1569244677
Tiffie
Thank you Sheba Kitty First off, I am looking forward to reading your blog. Thank you for your encouragement. I am starting the slow and tedious process of building back up to something that resembles training.
sallyarchi
Congrats on taking charge of your life!!! I promise you this process is amazing. My schtick was giving up my wine more than weight loss. Everyone here has a dragon to conquer....sugar, carbs, wine, weight. My son in law lost 60 pounds doing the Whole30 and Crossfit. The blogs are a life saver. Just scan them and read every day. There are people all over the world doing this and you will too!

1Maryann
Just wanted to stop by to say hello and welcome. Right now you don't 'have' to lose 100 lbs. You just have to eat whole, unprocessed, nourishing, delicious food. Your body will do the rest.
Tiffie
Very true Maryann. One of my self sabotaging techniques ... goals that are too lofty to conquer easily. Thank you for helping.

almcc
Welcome!!!This forum and the daily emails really helped me stay on track. I'm 53 and not currently athletic but I want to be. When I started my first whole whatever (march 2013) I was 70 lbs above my college weight. I am slowly changing my mindset - the one that says I have to lose a certain amount of weight to have the life I want. I am practicing 2 things: trying new things (athletic and not) now and accepting that when I care for my body, my body performs like it should and will reach its ideal weight (I don't know what that is). I say practice because the old thoughts and habits are still present and may always be. Letting go of an exact weight goal continues to be hard for me - I am determined though. The most life changing aspect of all this is: knowing that I can change. And It took a mere 30 days to find that out.You can do this too!!
Tiffie
Thank you ALMCC I am very excited as it seems like I already have many people supporting me in my endeavors. I plan a shopping trip tomorrow to fully stock one week worth of the right food for my new lifestyle.
