Jenny24
My name is Jenny and his is my first Whole 30, I am on Day 1. I decided to do a Whole 30 because, while I eat Paleo 90% of the time, I still have my "cheat" moments (usually with ice cream or something sweet) and I felt I had gotten a little too familiar with the "treats" section of all my paleo cookbooks. Paleo treats are great to have for a special occasion, but "it's Sunday and I want pancakes" is not really an occasion. I felt that my attachment to sugar was way too strong and I thought I could really benefit from a "re-set". The hardest part will be not giving in to all my sugar cravings. I love ice cream more than just about anything and it's my favorite non-paleo treat. I also like squares of dark chocolate (88%) after dinner, and the occasional glass of wine and giving up all of that will be hard. What won't be hard is staying away from gluten. I've been gluten-free for a year after finding out I had a gluten intolerance and an auto-immune disease. I don't miss it one bit!
