Sunday - had time to cook extra today. Made a frittata to use for breakfasts this week. Chicken Green curry with leftovers, butternut squash, tomato salad. It felt like I was using alot of fat when cooking today. Drank plenty of water today. Found myself wanting to graze this evening but wasn't hungry so just got out of the kitchen. Need to get up earlier than usual tomorrow to do the WOD, usually go in the evening but I have an unexpected meeting tomorrow evening. Going to bed with a bit of a headache.

Day 2. Thoughts of having a diet Pepsi came to mind several times, then I remembered - water. Feeling sleepy, but often do at this time of day, plus I had an earlier morning today than usual. Crossfit at 6 a.m. wasn't too bad.

If anyone wants to join on here, that would be great to share experience.

Day 4 morning - woke up several times in the night with a bad headache. Finally got up a little before six, had a glass of water. Just finished breakfast - frittata with chicken, mushrooms, and onions; tomato/cucumber salad with olive oil and vinegar. After reading a post by someone else in troubleshooting, I had some sweet potato too. Wait and see what happens.

Day 8 - I have found I like freshly cooked eggs for breakfast, rather than warming up a frittata.

Meal 1 - 2 eggs, grd beef, red pepper scramble topped with avocado and picante sauce; tomato cucumber salad with olive oil and vinegar

Meal 2 - Moroccan meatballs over cauliflower rice ( from Nom Nom paleo), carrot sticks

Pre-WOD - some steak and carrot sticks (forgot to take some nuts)

Meal 3 (right after WOD)- 1/2 sweet potato, wilted kale and grd meat chili

No cravings today, but a sense mid-afternoon that "there's nothing I can eat." It passed as I got busy again at work.

Day 11( counted wrong when I posted last time)

Feeling pretty good, a little constipated. I've been taking mg oxide b/c I had some at home, but maybe should pick up the Natural Calm.

Meal 1 at 6:30- 2 eggs, ground beef, onion, celery and gr pepper sautéed with coconut oil, Brussels sprouts with some ghee

Snack - pretty hungry by 10:30 - macadamia nuts

Meal 2- noon - romaine salad, tomato, red pepper, small can tuna with balsamic vinegar & olive oil.

I'm getting the oil changed in the car. Before the appt, I had 1/2 hour on my hands. In the past I would have stopped for some food or a soda. All the diff choices ran thru my head but not a real temptation.

Looking forward to the WOD at 4:30.

Pre WOD - egg cooked in ghee

Post WOD - tuna and some sweet potato

Meal 3 - wilted kale, chili, avocado, Brussels sprouts

The workout seemed harder than I would have thought, but I am new to Crossfit or maybe IMO body still is getting use to the new eating style. I'm still glad that I'm doing all of this, feeling better, getting stronger (my husband gave me some perspective tonight when he asked how many push-ups I could do 2 months ago compared to tonight's workout), and some clothes are beginning to fit a little looser.

Onward!

PS So far, my favorite end of the day reward from the Whole30 daily email was day one! still smiling just thinking about it.

Going to continue with another w30.  I have some head games I still want to get rid of and I'm going to do the 4-miler at OSU in November.  So I need something to keep me on track (it's a walk or run *me walk*).  I just am not ready to introduce all the things I was eating before.  I will not be eating wheat/grains ever again - or known sugar - but dairy - mostly cheese has been hard to give up.  I didn't eat any on the first w30, but I sure missed it.  And of course I would like some "Paleofied" treats - muffins, or cookies or something.  So I don't think my brain is quite yet shed of the sugar demon with all the off track things that continue going through it.

Congrats on turning your thoughts toward success rather than feeling down.  Nice that your husband is backing you up!  I'm re-reading some of the emails as I go thru again.  I loved them and they were so helpful!

You are on about the day I was getting to the tired state!  Rest is good and sweet!  I haven't had the Moroccan meatballs, but I do love the spaghetti squash -- with my sauce or I love to put my chocolate chili on top of it.  I haven't tired of the chili yet so I'll be making more - it is so nice to have for lunch or when your tired in the evenings.  Did you pre-make the meatballs or did you make them up today?  I'm trying to get a handle on the cook up - still working on it -- I like my weekends - so I'm just being stubborn I guess.  Hope you can rest easy...!
