drybean
Background: I have been eating mostly paleo at meals for the last few years. I'm very Health conscious and try to be in tune with my body. Couldn't tell you the last time I sat down to a plate of pasta. Over the summer I packed on 10lbs out of nowhere, and just suddenly started feeling puffy, creaky and older than my 35 years. Decided to really buckle down and clean up my diet and see how I feel. One thing I realized right off the bat is that I'm a big time Spoon Licker. I have to physically stop myself from licking the knife when I make PB&J sandwiches for kids. Same with any other forbidden snack I might give them. I would pour them some pirate booty and grab just a few, although I would never go get such a snack or meal for myself. Make them smoothies and have just a taste, to see what it lacked. Things like that. So, day 8 today. I didn't experience any detox headaches or anything like that. Only symptoms I have had was fatigue on day 6 and slight diarrhea on day 3-4. I feel great, not bored with food yet and not really craving anything. Although, I was so out of it this morning that I poured homemade mayo in my coffee instead of coconut milk.😮 I did have some cravings for a sweet bite after meals last week, but was able to talk it down. I went to a social event Friday night and didn't deviate! I brought my own coconut water and raw veggies and had those instead of margaritas and chips/guacamole. I felt great about not giving in. Yesterday's meals: B: 2 cups spinach, 2 eggs in coconut oil L: large salad with olive oil, 4 olives, and 7 bite sized Homemade turkey meatballs. Homemade kale chips D: 2 hard boiled eggs with 1tb homemade mayo and curry. Kale chips, few bites jicama and 1 stick celery. (light on veggies, I know. Crazy night with softball, art class and cub scouts). This morning: 2 cups spinach, 1/2 c. Mushrooms, 1 tomato and 2 eggs.

Physibeth
Welcome! Looks like you are doing pretty well though I would suggest upping your protein at all 3 meals. A serving of eggs is the number you can hold in your hand. I'm 5'4" and I can hold 4. Looks like you are doing great on your veggies. Some of your meals look like on fat too. Cooking fat generally does not count towards your serving.
drybean
Roz- I was so sad about the wasted mayo that I actually stared at it for a moment to contemplate how it would taste. Could not go through with it though. Physibeth-thank you for the tips. Re: the eggs, I'm a bit confused because I can hold two raw XL eggs in the palm of my hand, but when cooked they are way bigger, of course. So should it be the raw size or cooked? Thanks for the tip on fat too. I just went and ate 5 colossal olives to go with my lunch. I guess I could always take a spoonful of coconut oil straight too, right? Lunch today was a compliant chicken sausage, 5 huge olives and a purée of butternut squash, coconut milk, onions and ginger. I still feel a bit hungry though, so I may eat 1/2 avocado too. amberino21
Eggs is based on how many eggs (in shells) you can hold - actually grasp them with your fingers, not just rest on your palm...I'm 5ft5 and hold 3 jumbo eggs easily. I can stretch that out to 4 if I really try!

Like Amber said its as many as you can grasp. I buy large eggs not xl but I imagine I could get 3 of those suckers in my hand. Melissa often jokes about how Dallas can hold more eggs when he is more hungry (up to 8 I think I read...yikes...he's tall though). For your lunch I would have actually added a 2nd sausage as the fat content of that looked ok. Keep experimenting and you will get the hang of it.
