Emers779
Hello! Trying to figure out substitutions to peanut butter, and looked at other nut butters at the store today. I wound up choosing a cashew butter, but didn't realize it had safflower oil in it. Is it possible to get nut butters without additional oil, and is the one I bought now off limits? Thanks! Moderators Tom Denham Posted September 22, 2013 Moderators Share Posted September 22, 2013 Safflower oil is acceptable, it is just not a great choice. I buy dried cranberries infused with apple juice that include some safflower oil. You could make your own nut butter in a food processor to get exactly what you want, but that is not a requirement. I could dry fresh cranberries and soak them in apple juice myself, but I don't think I ever will.
