ChickenNoodle
Is there anything here that I need to worry about? I exercise a lot and hate coconut water. I am thinking sorbitol might be an issue. Moderators Tom Denham Posted September 24, 2013 Moderators Share Posted September 24, 2013 My Bikram yoga teacher told me I needed to take electrolytes before and after 90-minute Bikram yoga classes. Melissa Hartwig told me that 90-minutes of sweating was not enough to make me need an electrolyte supplement. I don't know what you are doing, but keep in mind that most people do not eat real food like we do during a Whole30. You may not need electrolytes at all. Sorbitol is sugar alcohol, not okay. Polyethylene glycol is used as a laxative. I am sure they have a reason for including it, but it is a curious part of the mix.
ChickenNoodle
Shoot. Well I am training for a tri and get pretty sweaty...plus it is hot as heck outside. Did a 5 mile loop running with some walking...not that much exertion but sweaty hot! Ok, will skip the nunn tabs, they just seemed like a good way to add electrolytes and make my water more interesting. No biggie. Thanks for the quick response. healthyAbby
If you want more interesting water infuse it with some fresh fruit or herbs and add a pinch of salt.
ChickenNoodle
Healthy abbey...hadn't considered the pinch of salt, great idea. I start to feel a little flooded with too much water, so I am trying to mix things up. Usually a squeeze of lemon or lime in sparkling mineral water does the trick, but I have low blood pressure and always worry that I am low on salt. Good suggestion, thanks!
