ArynKyan
Hello everyone! I'm diving into this challenge and feeling pretty good so far. I've tried many dietary programs over the past year as I've suddenly been hit with chronic migraines. The best I have felt before the Whole 30 is when I was very strict with my sugars and carbs. It was the first time in many months that I went over three weeks without getting a migraine. Previously, I was getting headaches daily and migraines every few days, lasting 2 or 3 days. Long story short, I've been back and forth with the food and different meds and have just had enough of things helping but not enough. I've watched a couple of friends take this Whole 30 journey on Facebook but recently a running friend told me just how great she's feeling. I got the book that day and jumped in! So far so good. I feel like I have a decent amount of energy but when I try to run or workout with some intensity, my body doesn't seem to know where to find the energy. I know that will get better so I'm patiently walking and biking and listening to my body. I look forward to learning from everyone else here! ChickenNoodle
I am also on day 5.... My runs have been pretty poor, and my legs are just so heavy. I was mostly Paleo before but still leaned on dairy..and enjoyed a post work out protein shake. I think it is really important to eat a good Post WO meal/snack and make sure you are getting in plenty of good carbs the day/night before your run, sweet pots, squash etc. I think we just need to grind it out a little bit longer and we will both start having better runs. I am banking on it, I have a tri scheduled for mid Oct! Good luck!
ArynKyan
They will get better! I know when I did sugar free, carb free previously it took a good week for my body to figure out what to use for fuel. I'm just still surprised when a few weeks ago I ran nine miles and then the other day I could barley make it one mile! Frustrating! I also leaned on protein shakes so that is an adjustment. I'm also struggling with breakfast. I'm hungry but tired of eggs! Good luck with your workouts! Hope they improve quickly. I'm going to try a run today again and see how it goes. I'm not being on much since I didn't get much sleep last night and am physically tired already.
