ZO4
Tomorrow the 29th, will be my first day on whole 30. BOOM!!! Excited that my wife and I are starting together. So here really the only question I got. On some days I have to be up early for work @ 2:30am. YUCK! ! While I am hungry, it is only for a certain things. Current state... I would do shakeology or a PB&J. Really anything else... I. Will. Gak. Vomit. Dry heave. Repeat. If one more person tells me eggs... I will puke. I love eggs. Just not before I am human at 2am!!! . Sorry . . Freaking a bit.... I would like some ideas. This is really the only thing that worries me. I have to eat when I wake up that early. So what can I do? I know what I can or cannot have. That part doesnt bother me. But does anybody have any ideas that includes protien and fruits? and no eggs. Please .
Roz Griffiths
Could you stomach soup? Butternut squash & sweet potatoes both make excellent soups with a little natural sweetness that may make them easier on the palate. Add in a little protein & you're good to go. Another option, if your schedule allows it, might be to have a very light snack first thing & a proper breakfast later?
Mary Carmosino Beougher
I'll second soup in the morning. I love a mix of winter squash, apple, and onion, roasted then puréed with broth or water. I leave the skins on too since my food proccessor will obliterate them. I top it with ground meat or shredded chicken. Yum.
GFChris
Leftovers from dinner or other previous meal is another option.
Mom2A&M
A small homemade mild sausage patty? I use ground turkey breast, unsweetened applause, cinnamon, ginger, and S&P fried in coconut oil. You can also try ground pork with diced apples and spices if you want more fruit flavor. Easy to reheat in the a.m. I also agree with a puréed soup. I love paleOMG carrot ginger soup. I love a smashed banana with coconut cream and cinnamon BUT this is only added to a proper meal! Mary Carmosino Beougher
Oh, carrot ginger soup sounds totally yum! I just got a whole bunch of carrots in my CSA this week and I need a new breakfast soup to try. Perfect.
ZO4
Soup huh? Not what I was expecting. I think I will give it a shot. If you think about it soup...in a way... is a hot smoothie. I will look into some of these recipies!!! There are some really cool things about this. One... I like to cook. It is my release value for my stress. Two my daughter loves to mix-a mix-a. Three my wife loves that I cook as well. That is a win, win, win. Thank you all very much!

Easy to reheat in the a.m.! We call these meat cookies... My hubby loves them and eats them without reheating! Anytime I make burgers of any kind, i have to make extra meat cookies for him. (He works graveyard and has to eat at weird times)
Mary Carmosino Beougher
I think I like soup because I was an oatmeal eater before. Particularly now that it's fall and cooling off, I like having that bowl of something warm in the morning.
terryd
Soup sounds fantastic.......sweet potato fritters are easy, tasty and keep well. Paleo Parents has a sweet potato hash that has sausage in it as well. Just a thought!
Want2BHealthy
Stuffed acorn squash is a good idea. Just cook and acorn squash and saute some compliant sausage and veggies together and stuff it in there. I do egg, veggie, and sausage stir fry most of the time, you could just leave out the eggs. I know what you mean about not having anything too heavy that early though. They also have whole 30 compliant bacon at http://www.grasslandbeef.com/StoreFront.bok but it's expensive!
