snowflower
I haven't tried it yet, but the new Well Fed cookbook has a pot roast that goes in the crockpot for 16 hours! I'm planning on trying it soon.
MrsStick
Roast I made overnight for tonight's dinner: Just shy of 2 lbs grass-fed chuck roast (maybe shoulder...don't remember!). 1 rutabaga 1 onion 5-6 carrots Big pack white mushrooms, whole Fresh parsley Salted/peppered roast well. Peeled/chopped first 3 veggies. Put mushrooms on top. Added parsley on top of that. Few splashes of water. Woke up to a delicious smelling house. Don't stress about recipes for roast or stew...it's very forgiving (and if it's bland, just add salt/pepper/spices after the fact!).
amberino21
Anyone have any good recommendations? I'd love some pressure cooker recipes - I've never used one but considering getting one for the speed! I'm guessing you use one - is it good? Roz Griffiths
A 1.5-2lb pot roast should take about 35-40 minutes in a pressure cooker, does that help?
Roz Griffiths
I'd love some pressure cooker recipes - I've never used one but considering getting one for the speed! I'm guessing you use one - is it good? I love mine! I've got a cheapo electric one, it's got a timer on it so you can just leave it to do its thing. It also has a delayed start function so you can use it like a slow cooker, as in stick your food in then go out all day & return to a cooked meal. Tom Denham's blog has loads of recipes, as does nomnompaleo
