Patty2
I'm going to be 60 in a few months. I have a fairly bad spine, and in my first 7 days of the Whole30, my back pain has gotten worse. Any advice?
Lizitea
I am 60 too I hope someone chimes in with good advice, I don't have much. But I can certainly say that everything gets worse at first, and actually that might be a great sign that the diet IS related to/going to be helpful with that. Can you say a bit more about what "bad spine" means? Is it related to bone loss? Which is likely to be helped by diet and I would assumer you are doing some supplements supplements.... connie_m
Not knowing more about what your back problems are, I would say that most back pain can be made worse by stress. So it's possible that the stress of eliminating foods that you're possibly craving could easily make you feel more discomfort. That said, it should improve a lot once you get through it, so stick with it for a while. You could also try doing something like restorative type yoga to counter the stress and loosen up your back muscles?
