RobinD
I started my reintro today with dairy. I tested half and half in my coffee, cheese and yogurt. I didn't notice anything. No problems. So do I still need to go two days with 100% Whole 30 before testing my next reintro group? Or can I speed things up and test grains tomorrow? Moderators Tom Denham Posted November 1, 2013 Moderators Share Posted November 1, 2013 You need to give yourself 2 days of clean eating before proceeding with testing. You didn't notice symptoms. That doesn't mean that your body got more healthy as a result of eating dairy. You did suffer some degradation of your health, you just didn't notice it. To give a fair test to grains, you need to let your body clear the dairy experience more fully so that you don't judge grains based upon grains plus the subtle effects of dairy. Roz Griffiths
One of the common effects from dairy is acne, which can take a day or so to manifest
RobinD
Okey doke. Thanks. One more question...Saturday will be my grain reintro day. If I have a glass of wine that night, will I mess things up? I did the Whole 30 100% compliant...so I haven't had alcohol in more than 30 days. RobinD
Correction: Sunday will be my grain reintro day- not Saturday. But I am thinking of having wine Saturday night at a party. Should I hold off on the wine?
Moderators Tom Denham Posted November 1, 2013 Moderators Share Posted November 1, 2013 Many people report feeling foggy drinking wine the first time after a Whole30. If you drink wine on Saturday and eat grains on Sunday, it will be difficult to figure out which is which if you have symptoms on Sunday.
Roz Griffiths
You could have the wine, then delay your grain reintro for another day or two? That would give any "foggy" effects from the alcohol time to clear.
