Sara's Post W30

I did get two walks in yesterday, so the coat change definitely helped.

Tonight I plan to get in a run and weights.  Thank goodness my husband is really stepping up and helping out at home.  It is keeping my anxiety level at high alert, rather than overload.   ;)

Jen, I would like to punch your husband in the face on your behalf.

So glad you're in for another good day, Sara! Woot to getting in exercise, especially through the stress of the holidays. It just makes everything better.

LadyM - So important!

Jen - Washing windows is a huge task.  My husband is great at projects, not great at maintenance.

I got in my run and weights last night.  And one walk.  I had to leave work early to take my Mom to the doctor, she had a reaction to her pneumonia vaccine.  And now today I'm back home with a puker.  Ugh.  He seems to be doing better now.  I'm hoping to get in some yoga tonight, whether it is at the studio or at home.

Busy weekend - Christmas tree Saturday morning, Wedding in the evening, gingerbread houses at my ILs on Sunday.  Plus runs, weights, yoga, etc.

Weekend was lovely!  Busy, but lots of fun.

My son was fine and back to school on Friday.  All the fun activities happened and I felt pretty good about how I ate/drank.  Not that I didn't indulge, but that I didn't overindulge.  Lots of family time and late nights!  All the exercise happened including yoga on Thursday which included some bird of paradise craziness.  I couldn't believe that I was able to stand up, although my other leg was going nowhere.  Funny to watch as people toppled over everywhere.  :o  :D

Another busy week with my son possibly testing for his next belt in karate and heading to DC/Richmond for the weekend to see my niece in the Nutcracker.  I have no idea when presents are going to get wrapped....

Walks today, even if it is drizzling, I will just walk with my hood up.  Weather is crazy warm here - yesterday it was 70!  B)

Got in my three walks.  Today should be even easier with no rain and still mild temps.

Eating is fine, weight is coming down slowly.  Some stress around my son getting his next belt at karate, major meltdown after he got hurt (bumped heads with another kid) and then didn't pass his test.  He'll try the test again today.

Hooray for a great weekend and birds of paradise and fine eating and weight coming down. Recovering from bumping heads with another kid, refinding focus and going for the test again sounds like a good life lesson for your son to learn at a tender age. I wish him all the best!

Thanks, LadyM.  My son made a course correction in attitude and was able to pass his test last night.  :D   I agree completely, it is a good life lesson for my son who doesn't often fail.  I want him to be resilient and this was a lesson in that.  This does push our drive to DC on Friday back a few hours, unfortunately, as we now need to attend his graduation ceremony.  It is worth it.

I only got in two walks yesterday due to a meeting over lunch.  I will try to get three in today.  No working out tonight, as I'm meeting up with friends for a drink.

Wonderful news for your son!

How long are these walks you're taking?!? Aiming for three a day? I guess technically I take between four and eight walks a day, but they range between 10 and 25 minutes a piece. I just think of it as the kind of regular daily movement we'd all be doing if we didn't live in such an industrial and technologically advanced society.

LadyM - Thanks!  They are about 10 minutes (maybe a hair longer), so nothing major.  That isn't counting my approximately nine bazillion trips to the bathroom.  :)   I figure that a half hour of walking is the minimum I should be going for during my work day.  Unfortunately I still struggle to get that in.

I only got in two walks yesterday, but obviously better than none.  Then I hit the grocery store.  Out for drinks with friends which was so fun!  It was great to catch up.

Tonight I am hoping to get to yoga.  Tomorrow run and weights.  Then I need to get ready to head to Richmond.  So karate graduation in the evening, followed by a 3.5 hour drive to DC.  Then up early Saturday morning to drive to Richmond to see my niece in the Nutcracker at 2.  We'll stay over at my sister's Saturday night (which should be fun!) and then head home sometime on Sunday.  It should be crazy.  Followed by Christmas Liturgy on Monday and then house guests on Tuesday.  It will all be fun and crazy and chaotic.  Getting regular structured exercise will be difficult this weekend.  With some time off over the holiday I will make movement a priority.  There was definitely talks of runs, hikes, and yoga.

What a fun weekend!  My niece had a wonderful performance in The Nutcracker and my son enjoyed it more than he thought he would.  Lots of fun family time.  Eating certainly wasn't "clean/good" whatever buzz word you want to use, but I didn't overdo it and other than being so tired, I'm feeling fine.

I did get to yoga on Thursday and run/weights on Friday, and as expected, no real exercise the rest of the weekend.  Tomorrow I hope to get in a run after karate....

I'm so thankful that my husband took on a ton of tasks while we were gone, so we are in pretty good shape for Christmas and house guests.

Only one walk yesterday due to a change in meeting schedule.  Last night was my son's school Christmas Liturgy.  Tonight after grocery store and threading, I am hoping to get in a run and weights.  Then my sister and her family arrive late tonight.     I'm not sure what work will be like tomorrow, hopefully out a bit early.  My son has a half day tomorrow.  My brother's girlfriend has to work until 6 on Christmas Eve  , so they think they will be getting to my house around 3am Christmas morning.  Ugh.

My sister, her wife and I are doing a yoga class Christmas Eve morning, I'm really looking forward to that.

LadyM - I am really looking forward to that class.

I did get in my run and weights yesterday.  I'm really dragging today.  My sister and her family got in late last night and I didn't get to bed until almost midnight.  With a 5ish wake up, that just isn't enough sleep for me.  Trying to pull it together...  And I'm trying to be conscious not to tired eat.

I'm really looking forward to this holiday, enjoying family, friends, food, and good cheer.

Merry Christmas and Happy Holidays!

Have a wonderful time, Sara--I know you will!

Also, I'm so grateful you mentioned the yoga class today. It inspired me to offer a special donation class this morning at 8 to benefit a day shelter in our community.

Merry Christmas and Happy New Year! May your celebrations be merry, bright, and CALM. :)

LadyM - Thanks!  Your donation yoga class sounds great.

We did make it to Yoga Christmas Eve morning and it was a lot of fun.  I signed up for the one on NYE morning as well.  I didn't get in quite as much movement as I would have liked, but I did get in a run with my sister and SIL.

The holiday was great and filled with family and friends time.  Too many late nights, but totally worth it.  And I felt like I indulged a bit without going crazy.  I had two cookies on Christmas Eve and French Toast Christmas morning.  But I didn't overeat at all, never felt uncomfortably full and I'll take that as a win.  I truly felt calm and like I was really enjoying the experiences of being with people and enjoying the environment and food.  Good times.

On contemplation, I feel like the Christmas after my W30, when I was very strict was good in that it helped me reset what enjoying a holiday was meant to be.  And I now seem to have found a happy place of being able to treat myself without going crazy.  So hopefully that will continue on over New Years and beyond.

Just one walk yesterday and dinner at my parents' with most of my siblings and their families.  Another not too late last night chatting with my brother and his girlfriend.  Tonight is my nephew's birthday party and it is raining, so it will be a low movement kind of day.

Eating is probably too much, but trying to not stress and be conscious.

Jen - I'm trying!

I think I'm in decent shape at work, so it will be an early day and I hope to run and lift tonight.  My body is feeling fairly sluggish with lack of movement.  I plan to make up for that this weekend.  We are having people over tomorrow evening, so I'm going to fit in some yoga tomorrow morning, followed by a quick run to the grocery store and then lots of cleaning.  If things go well, I'll fit in a nap as well.

I'm having a bit of the sads.  All of my siblings, and their families, who were up for Christmas (everyone except my sister who lives in Ireland) are heading home today.  It will be quiet without them.  We had a fantastic holiday, getting to really enjoy each other.  Lots of just hanging out or celebrating.  Some card games.  Lots of kids running around, being kids.  Ah.

Things will get busy at work with me having to come in this weekend to do closing and then the auditors in on Monday.  Lots of year-end stuff to accomplish in January.

Happy New Year, my friends!

Yesterday was very busy at work.  But things turned out well, so it is all good.

My weight is definitely up after the holidays, I'm not surprised and I'm not stressed.  I enjoyed lots of time with family and friends, and I enjoyed the food and drinks.  I started on my modified whatever yesterday and so far so good.  Trying to keep things calm and easy.

I got in my runs, not so much the weights, and did get out hiking.  Tonight is a run and weights.

Hope your New Year is off to a good start.

Got in my run and weights yesterday.  I was so tired and having a hungry day.  It did not make for an easy treadmill run.  But I'm glad I got it done.  I think today is a rest day and I'm planning to get to yoga tomorrow.

Eating was in line yesterday.  And yesterday made two days in a row of being in bed by 9:30.  Woot!  Hopefully that will start to dial back the tiredness.
