July 21-day One

I woke up really excited to start this plan. I even dreamt about veggies last night. I weighed myself and weighed in at 209.

I had a great breakfast:

3 free range local eggs

spinach

baby portabella mushrooms

cooked in coconut oil

Cold press coffee with 1/4 cup coconut milk (YUM)

Then I went to the farmers market and picked up some local fresh veggies and some ground bison burger to make one day this week. Then I went to the co-op to get some organic coconut milk (native forest), some ghee, but didn't have luck finding coconut aminos (but I put in a request to get some) Then I was off to the grocery store for more veggies (and a hormone free range free chicken jumped into my cart too) Home to lunch:

Hearts of Romaine

1/2 an avocado

sliced raw almonds

Chicken breast prepared in olive oil

A Hardboiled Egg

Cherry tomatoes (farmers market find)

1/2 an english cucumber (another fm find)

balsamic vinegar and Olive oil

Dinner:

Chicken breast (grilled)

fennel and swiss chard in sauted in olive oil

green beans very lightly steamed (fm too!)

NOW.....BE HONEST, I had dessert...too much?

fresh rasperries/strawberries/blueberries (maybe a cup total)

1/4 cup of coconut milk

It was my only fruit of the day and since I am not battling the sugar cravings (seeing as i have been sugar free already, i figured it would be ok)

I didn't get in my workout today (persay) but I did pick up a bunch of trees and loaded and pushed the wheelbarrow around for about an hour.

It's now 10:15 and I know the sleep aspect is what I will struggle with because I have a 10 month old little girl who is still breastfeeding and she still gets up to nurse 1-2 times a night, so I am going to have to try really hard to get to bed earlier every night. Off to hit the shower and bed, even though my husband and parents are watching a movie.

July 22- Day 2

Woke up tired after a long night with my daughter. But, not anymore than usual.

Breakfast:

ghee

scrambled eggs (appr. 3)

red/green/banana pepper

spinach

portabella mushrooms

cold press coffee

1/4 cup unsweetened coconut milk

Lunch:

Tuna (natural sea from co op-starkist has soy...never knew that before)

Olive oil

salt/pepper

celery

sugar snap peas

raspberries

blueberries

unsweetened coconut milk

About 3pm I was really hungry, I had a glass of water, was still hungry so I opted for a

Snack:

macadamia nuts (probably the first time I have had them besides in cookies:/ )

1 hardboiled egg

La Croix Orange flavored sparkling water

I was fairly hungry by dinner time.

Dinner:

boneless pork chop

cauliflower

beets

sun tea (unsweetened)

1/4 of a peach

I managed to sneak in a workout after the kids went to bed. I walked .8 miles walked(15:30), ran .8 miles(12:30), .8 miles walked (16:30)

I am just starting out working out again, and working on the continuous running, so I am pretty happy with that (except it was so slow)

more from 7/22

I craved 2 things today...MILK (so random because i rarely drank milk anyway) and dark chocolate (I used to allow myself 1 oz every few days, and i was cleaning out the cupboards and could smell it.....guess i should have cleaned out the cupboards before i started) By the way the only thing on my "approved pantry shelf" is...organic pumpkin, organic pureed sweet potatoes (pretty sure I saw a recipe with that so I picked it up), some hormone free canned chicken(for if i am in a huge pinch----emergencies), and coconut milk! I also rearranged the fridge too, although its so full of veggies, its just crazy!

July 23-Day 3

I woke up really really nauseous. I had to force myself to eat breakfast (which is why it was probably a little too small)

Breakfast

2 free range eggs

1/2 red pepper

1/2 green pepper

1/2 onion

5 grape tomatoes

prepared in ghee

cold press coffee

lt native forest canned coconut milk (accidentally picked up light and it was not nearly as good)

*I didn't finish my coffee

I was still really nauseous for about an hour after breakfast

Lunch

I was not well prepared at all, so it was a modge podge and way too small. I was also dealing with a clingy 10 month old and a whiney 2 1/2 year old, so I did my best.

2 oz leftover pork

1 hardboiled egg

leftover cauliflower (only a little)

Peas (out of pod, raw)

raw carrots

my handful of cashews

I had a sparkling water mid-afternoon, I needed something other than plain water.

I was starving by dinner time today (which ended up being later than normal.

Dinner

5 oz eye of round steak

broccoli

2 olives

handful of macadamia nuts (because I thought i was still hungry)

Now I am drinking an unsweetened iced tea. I also had some plain kombucha today.

I am still craving milk. I also felt a lot hungrier than normal today. I need to plan better. I have leftover steak, so I am looking forward to a steak and eggs breakfast! I really hope I don't feel so nauseous tomorrow.

I didn't get my workout in today, but I did go through my entire closet and got rid of 2 huge rubbermaids full of clothes that are too big! YEAH!!!

I also found out that I am attending a birthday party this weekend. Ugh..I am not looking forward to figuring out what I am going to eat. I guess I will eat before I go or bring a few dishes to "share" thinking deviled eggs and veggies.

I am also hoping someone can help me out with other breakfast ideas besides eggs....i'm going to overdose on them:(

July 24-Day 4

I woke up tired from another long night from my children who refuse to sleep, but once I got going I was fine. I am still a little pukey feeling in the morning, but not nearly as bad as before.

Breakfast:

2 free range eggs

3 oz round eye steak (leftover

spinach

cold press coffee

coconut milk

Lunch:

Cilantro lime shrimp over a bed of spinach and red peppers (YUM)

berries

coconut milk

I think I had too many berries/coconut milk because I was uncomfortable for a bit:(

Dinner:

Venison burger made into tacos (the whole30 taco recipe)

lettuce

tomatoes

red pepper

cilantro

whole avocado

Snack:

macadamia nuts

I had a lot of energy today. I cleaned house a lot today and was up and down doing lots of laundry. I am still going to try to get a quick workout in tonight, but we shall see, sleep may be just as important. I talked my husband into picking the peas for me in the garden tonight so I could get on the computer. I don't think I sat down all day!

I was craving dairy again today, especially sour cream with the tacosalad, but i resisted. I also had sugar cravings....which is strange.

All in all a good day. I still need to plan better for my protein, not sure how much I have in the fridge for leftovers, but I am making a whole chicken tomorrow, so that will be good for the rest of the week!

July 25-Day 5

Woke up hungry...then still really pukey feeling...even after eating! Really really frustrated!

Breakfast:

leftover venison taco meat

2 eggs

orange bell pepper

tomatoes

avocado

fresh cilantro

squirt of lime

cold press coffee

coconut milk

*i couldnt even finish i felt so pukey.....

Lunch:

~2 oz leftoever steak

leftover steamed broccoli

*This is all i had time for with dealing with children who wouldn't eat/nap.

Snack:because i didn't eat enough for lunch:/

handful of "mixed nuts" raw cashews/almonds/hazelnuts/pistachios/walnuts(maybe one walnut)

a hardboiled egg

Feeling so so frustrated right now. I never have succeeded when I feel "restricted" on a plan and today I feel that way. I was so close to throwing in the towel. Thanks to my good support system (alitab) i can push through it. Now, off to plan my dinner while one kid is still napping...

Dinner:

zucchini cakes 4

sweet potatoe fries-baked

Baked chicken thighs

dinner was awesome tonight and i have leftovers....yeah!

Now its 10:10 and i am prepping for company and making fresh coldbrew and hardboiled eggs! Tomorrow i am going to try my hand at the mayo. and a frittata for company on friday morning.

Even though i had a frustrating day emotionally, i feel good physically (other than this mornings pukey)

Remember to focus on all the things you CAN have, not what you CAN'T, it will help, I promise (on the whole30 & life in general, I remind myself of that all the time!) This is for a short period of time to reset your system - then as you carefully add things back in, you will know what is problematic. In the long run, it will all be worth it. And, I am so appreciative of you taking time out of your insane day to make us cold press & other stuff. you rock, sister!

7/26-Day 6

Woke up hungry and had breakfast and was NOT nauseous....yeah!

Breakfast:

ghee

2 eggs

4 leftover zucchini cakes

small coffee (starbucks)

Lunch:

leftover chicken thighs (can i eat the skin? it was antibiotic free)

leftover sweet potato fries

garden fresh sugar snap peas

banana

grapefruit sparkling water

Its 4:00 and I am starving. Why am I so hungry today?

My workout: ran 1 mile (12) without stopping! yeah...i could have gone farther, why didn't i?!

1/2 hour on the bike.

Dinner: cilantro lime shrimp

over spinach salad with orange peppers

(my new favorite go to meal)

Snack:

nuts-a mix of all the good ones!

*i was thinking i didn't have enough fat today because all I had was olive oil, so that's why i had them. and they sounded good:/ oops....

feeling good tonight. A little more tired than usual, but I had a good workout and was really busy running errands today, so that's probably why. I hear it gets easier from here. So excited!

It could be you need to eat more (ie. 2 eggs isn't a lot, especially with no other protein source in the morning meal). It could be you react to sugar/fruit like I do (a banana will make me hungry later. always). sometimes that stuff is kind of random. anyway. EAT! and say hi to alitab from me ;) have fun.

7/27 Day 7

Breakfast

3 eggs

Lunch

*off to a 4 year old birthday party....wish me luck!

Dinner

hamburger (very low quality,but needed protein)

deviled egg (1/2 an egg) I made these, so I know the mayo was fine....because I made the mayo out of the book! I didn't like it plain, but it was good in thte deviled eggs.

LOTS of veggies-tomatoes, cucumbers, peppers, carrots (not too many)

I RESISTED BIRTHDAY CAKE! honestly, it wasn't that hard even.

7/28 Day 8

*Out of town staying at in-laws house, doing the best I can

Breakfast:

2 hardboiled eggs (would have been 3, but my son stole one)

raw carrots

raw yellow pepper

blueberries

Lunch:

my "mixed" nut mixture----i think i'm allergic to hazelnuts, my throat gets all scratchy when I eat them, so I think I will be skipping those from now on...

Kiwi

Carrots

Yellow pepper

Cucumbers (lots)

Chicken breast (1 1/2)

1/2 an apple

*I was really full after that

sparkling water

*NO PIZZA! Everyone else ordered pizza, but I had the above!

Dinner:

Chicken Breast

fresh garden green beans

more fresh cucumbers (yum)

I had a terrible headache today. I am wondering if it was from not enough water on friday and today. The water at my in laws tasted weird, so I had a hard time drinking a lot of it, but i did my best. I also didn't have coffee today, so I am going to try to cut back on my coffee a little bit....hoping its not caffeine related.

*a lot of my in laws hadn't seen me in awhile and said I was looking really good. That was nice. BUT they also thought I was crazy for not eating things....if they only knew;)

7/29-Day 9 Woke up feeling a little pukey again. Its been really hard to eat breakfast. I feel like I am forcing it down:( I wish I could have an alternative to eggs, just not sure what...

Breakfast: 2 eggs (would have been 3, but one was a little more "developed" than I would like)

spinach

zucchini

onion (i ate both eggs, but couldn't finish the zucchini)

all cooked in ghee

Lunch

chicken breast

snap peas

nuts-mixture of almonds, macadamias, no skin hazelnuts(these didnt bother my throat), cashews

Dinner:

hamburgers 2, probably 6 oz

3/4 of avocado

1/2 large tomato

garden fresh broccoli

sweet potatoes

I really hope a moderator or advanced member can help me out because I just want to QUIT. I am constantly feeling sick and I feel like I have to choke down all my food. Its really been a challenge. The only thing keeping me going is the fact that I keep thinking it will get better, but most say they feel great by now...however, I do not:(

7/30 Day 10

LONG night up with a teething baby....so a little tired, but no nausea as of yet. I was also having a lot of leg cramps (charlie horses) last night. Something must be lacking that I am having these. I had some last week too, which is why I had a banana that one day. any thoughts anyone? I think maybe not enough water? I probably didn't have enough the last few days.

Breakfast:

2 eggs fried in ghee

leftover sweet potato

blueberries

brewed coffee with coconut milk (not that great...btw) I will stick to coldpress, just ran out and didn't have time to make it last night.

(i will probably regret not eating more later, but for now I don't feel sick, so I am doing ok)

Lunch:

hamburger taco meat

lettuce

tomatoes

1/2 avocado

cilantro

squeeze of lime

I was starving by dinner time.

Dinner:

Steak

Garden fresh green beans

leftover sweet potatoes

banana

almond butter

(i am not sure i should have had the banana with almond butter, but too late)

I am super snacky tonight and all I really want is some olives. Not sure if that would be an ok snack. I know snacking isn't something that is really allowed, but sometimes i'm just plain hungry.

7/31 Day 11

Breakfast:

3 eggs

spinach

mushrooms

I felt a little sick to my stomach after this meal.

Cold press with coconut milk.

Lunch:

Kohlrabi

cucumbers

tomatoes

leftover steak

green olives stuffed with garlic

Dinner:

Seasoned pork roast

zucchini pancakes (foodee)

^^pancakes had a french toast like taste to them, i like the other recipe better, those were more like potato pancakes, all i kept thinking about was maple syrup

I had a super intense workout. I did hatha yoga this morning for an hour, then i did 1/2 hour of bike and 1/2 hour of elliptical. It felt great. I am super wiped out though, so hoping to get to bed early tonight. First I need to make coldpress though:)

I "cheated" today. I was in a wellness competition for the month of July and part of it was diet, water, and weight loss. I weighed myself. In the month of July I lost 13 pounds. 3 pounds so far in my 11 days. I am doing it again in August and hoping to incorporate more exercise.

8/1 Day 12

Breakfast:

Pork

snap peas

Dinner:

Pork

Broccoli

sweet potatoes

*I had a lot of leftovers to eat up today.

I had a good workout today. I was really really tired in the afternoon and was dragging, but I pushed through and had a good workout. I managed to make my coldpress today. Tomorrow is a daycare day for my kid, so hoping to get a good workout in and work out in my garden to pick more fresh veggies. I might have too many, time to freeze.

Finally am not feeling nauseated in the morning.

OH...I also WON my wellness challenge for the month of July! I won $50! I plan on winning August too:)

8/2 Day 13

Breakfast:

ghee

2 eggs

2 turkey sausage

snap peas

Lunch:

leftover steak

zucchini pancakes (sooo yummy)

Dinner:

shrimp

1/2 red onion

1/2 red pepper

1/2 yellow pepper

1/2 green pepper

all stir fry'ed in coconut oil.

I did yoga again today, the next step up. I am feeling really good, except after lunch I feel sooo tired. I would normally reach for a coffee, but can't do that:(
