Sweet Potato Waffle Well Fed 2 Whole30?

So if I cook grated sweet potatoes in a saute pan, they are considered whole30.  But if I cook them in a waffle iron they are not?  I can see pancakes, because they have flour in them, but sweet potatoes that are seared in a grill press rather than pressed by a spatula?

It's about context and keeping consistent with SWYPO standards. The rules are no pancakes on a Whole30: for the same reasons, no waffles. Again, it's about changing your relationship with food. Really want some compliant ingredients pressed in a waffle machine? Wait until after your Whole30: there are so many other compliant and non-Paleoifying ways to enjoy sweet potato.

Well, they are delicious (sweet potato waffles), but rules are rules so I'll wait.  However, another question.  On the Whole30 "Official list of Can I have?" under sweet potato fries it says "make your own".  Aren't sweet potato fries a Paleoified food also?
