KathyV
I came across Applegate Bacon that was nitrate-free and no msg's all compliant except it had sugar listed in the less than 2% ingredents. Would that still be considered ok? Or should I leave it for after my whole 30?
amberino21
No sugar is ok on your whole 30, even if it's a negligible amount. Your bacon doesn't need to be nitrate free- that may make it easier for you to find something compliant
KathyV
thanks amberino21. So after the whole 30 it would be ok? In the meantime I will look for another one, since I already bought it, I will put it in the freezer.
GFChris
You can eat whatever you want after a Whole30.
KathyV
Great! I think that type of bacon would be the healthiest choice. I was going to use it to make the sweet potato soup in Well Fed 2 book, sounds yummy(like all her other soups), but in the meantime I will sub. coconut oil instead, but I know the bacon will give it that extra punch that my taste buds love! For a similar taste, prosciutto may work - it's easier to find compliant versions
