Sue Hundley Sharpe
I am about to make some mayo, but I do not have any lemons. Can I use the organic apple cider vinegar?? thanks!
Tina R
I think the apple cider vinegar might be too strong of a flavor for the mayo. Do you have rice wine vinegar? I believe it is whole30 compliant (the unseasoned one) and it has a lighter flavor. I just made some with limes because I didn't have any lemons, it worked great. Boykinbaby
i've always used ACV and prefer the taste to other vinegars personally
GFChris
When I'm out of lemons I also use ACV and it comes out fine. Sometimes I also do 1 tbsp lemon juice and 1 tbsp ACV.
HealingWithin
I am planning to try making it with white vinegar today. I have made it with ACV and didn't love the flavor.

If you have 2 tbsp worth of lemon juice, you don't need any vinegar.
HealingWithin
GFChris - I normally make it with lemon juice but suspect I might be slightly intolerant to lemon. I ended up trying the white vinegar today and can't taste the difference.

praxisproject
I've made it with limes, anyone know if it would work with orange juice? I currently have some blood orange.
KathyV
Orange juice for making mayo sounds good.....hope someone has an answer on this, or I may have to try it myself...
sjosey77
Coconut vinegar is really good too. I prefer lemons but that is just me. I think it really comes down to your preference for mayo. Kinda like if the toliet paper roll is over or under. And it's over for the record. jk
