Amazon Buys

Hey folks! I'm on Day 6 of my first Whole30 - I'm feeling great though a bit tired!

I am from a smaller place in Canada so we don't have a lot of options when it comes to our groceries and less "traditional" foods, so I'm going to order some stuff from amazon.com and I'm wondering if you have any suggestions of good buys - what are you favorite go-to things that are whole30 compliant? Good deals? Best companies to buy from?

Thanks so much!!

I want to order Coconut Aminos from Amazon, but I'm scared to because there are so many reviews complaining of leaks & spills during shipping. Have you all always had success with shipments of Coconut Aminos?

The Coconut Secret Coconut Aminos must be packaged poorly.

I purchased this at my local Whole Foods, and it was leaking by the time I got it home (less than a 10 minute drive).

I just recently had delivered from Amazon (to Australia via FedEx) - things I can't get locally:

  • a bunch of awesome paleo cookbooks
  • grassfed gelatin (Great Lakes) #found out just after purchase there is an Aussie supplier for this too
  • cute gelatin moulds
  • Glycosolve (supplement to help with blood sugar)

I can get Coconut Aminos by Coconut Secret locally, so don't order those through Amazon, but I've never had any trouble with mine leaking. Ours are plastic bottles. Sometimes things shipped here are in alternative packaging, such as plastic rather than glass bottles to save shipping costs.

Are Whole Foods coconut aminos bottle glass or plastic?

Food is often awkward to import to Australia because of our customs requirements, and depending on the weight of the item, sometimes heavy things like cans become crazy-expensive when shipping is included. I try to buy from Amazon.com only and avoid the smaller stores. Australians seem to have regular problems with some of these smaller stores. While Amazon does it's best to ensure you don't pay for things you don't get, I recommend not spending any money you really can't afford to lose with these small stores and only ever pay via a credit card for best purchase protection.
