Greens- raw or cooked?

I have a question regarding greens (kale, spinach, chard, etc) - do we count the amount of it cooked or raw towards the amount of veggies required per meal? I'm asking because I tend to use 4 cups of raw kale but it ends up being less than a cup cooked and I'm not sure if that's enough.

I don't think you are getting enough veggies if you rely on raw greens. Raw greens are as small in your stomach as wilted greens are on your plate. One reason people get hungry after eating many salads is that they are not actually getting enough to eat. 

 

There is no firm rule about this, but experience says think in terms of cooked veggies, not raw.
