Day 7 and so far so good!  My first Whole 30.  Not having trouble with the food but sleep is eluding me.  Anyone else?  My hubby is also a challenge so he has agreed not to bring red wine home and he is giving up dairy, grains and sugar.  He is joyfully eating what I put in front of him but says he is gaining weight.  (Probably is as he is still drinking beer and eating potatoes!)

Upon arising - juice of 1/2 lemon in warm water.

7:30 Breakfast:  egg scramble with olive oil, spinach, broccoli, onions, mushrooms, peppers.  1/2 avocado.

Felt strangely hungry after but instead of eating more I made myself a big glass of water with a teaspoon of ground flaxseed and drank that down.  Did the trick.

11:45 Lunch: tuna fish salad - spinach, lettuce, peppers, artichokes, olives, pumpkin seeds, cucumber, green onion, olive oil and balsamic vinegar for a dressing.

This is the first time I have had balsamic on this journey, and it tastes like candy to me!  It does not have any added sugar so maybe my taste buds have adjusted to not having my stevia?

Planned dinner - cooking in the crock pot as we speak - beef stew with carrots, green beans, onions, cabbage, tomatoes.  Will serve sweet potatoes separately (hubby hates them)  Unfortunately the beef is not grass fed, but had to use up what is in the freezer (Costco).  Veges are mostly organic.

I am finding I get a bit  hungry around 4 pm so I have taken to packing a "mini meal" with me in case I can't make it to dinner.  Today I have some chopped chicken with a bit of celery and green onion, with a tablespoon of homemade mayo.  If I don't feel I need it I don't eat it, but if I get too hungry I could eat a box of Ritz Crackers!
