penguin217
Almost every recipe I find for mashed sweet potatoes says to use coconut milk, which I'm not a huge fan of. I prefer almond milk but I don't know if it would go well with sweet potatoes. Anyone out there tried this? Hate it or love it?
jent103
I haven't tried either, but with mashed butternut squash I use a little chicken stock. Not as sweet, obviously, but personally I like that.
Mom2A&M
I only add S&P, no milk.
luckylily
I'm sure almond milk would be fine since the flavor or almond milk is pretty mild. It is just like adding milk, broth, or whatever to mashed potatoes to help thin them out a bit. You can also just leave it out.
GFChris
Almond milk is thinner in consistency than coconut milk, so it might not be the same. Also, if you decide to "go there," be sure the almond milk is compliant: no sugar, sweetener, carrageenan or other nasties.
Guest
If you can find compliant orange juice that's a prefect way to add a little smoothness! I made some last week and added walnuts and cinnamon and it was delish!
