Natural flavor

I've come across "natural flavour" as an ingredient in a few of things - beef stock and chai tea for example. Is natural flavour ok to eat?

 

I saw it in one post about La Croix sparkling waters being OK but they contain natural flavor as well:

I've read it is a very broad term and can include some pretty gross things (see my links below) that I don't want to eat and don't think are Whole30 compliant.
