Dem
Couldn't find sun butter without sugar but we have the rest of the ingredients for Well Fed's Pad Thai. Can I use cashew butter instead?
Colleen Roy
Heck yeah you can! I use homemade almond butter in mine as I'm not a fan of the flavor of the Sunbutter. It's yummy!
ARamstead
Thank you for asking this. I've turned every grocery store (including a Whole Foods) in a 10-mile radius upside down in my search for this stuff. lol Cashew butter is a great idea! drtracyb
I toasted sunflower seeds and made my own sun butter for the recipe.
Dem
The cashew butter worked just fine!
Jenny2014
I used tahini (sesame seed paste) and it also worked really well (so yummy I made it two times in one week).
Juice06870
I just made the pad thai from the Well Fed book last night and it was amazing. Really an excellent take on the traditional dish and full of flavor. I crushed some cashews in a zip lok bag and sprinkled them on top for a little crunch. I used sunbutter and it worked very well. ARamstead
Just wanted to say that last night I made this with the cashew butter and HOLY CRAP was that good!!
praxisproject
If you make your own, does it keep as well as nut butter? I haven't ever seen the kind of sunbutter without sugar in Australia.
