Laura Jeanne Penrod
I went and had a colonic today. It was pretty crazy, and they indicated that probably from my pervious Vegan diet that I may have Candida. Do I need to continue doing colonics and taking a pill they reccomend, or just keep eating paleo/Whole 30? I feel like I don't wanna rely on a cleanse with a pill, etc. thoughts? Moderators Tom Denham Posted July 27, 2012 Moderators Share Posted July 27, 2012 I think colonics are unnatural and "pretty crazy." Most medical professionals consider them generally unhelpful. Your body knows how to take care of itself. Just feed it good food and it will handle its own waste just fine.
Laura Jeanne Penrod
Cool! I as feeling pretty odd, and thought well maybe I do need to do it. I think I'm just gonna keep doing what I'm working towards and not bother. I even saw that they believe that Candida isn't really even a real medical issue. Thanks Tom! EllieBellie
I had Candida for two years (thanks, tonsillitis and antibiotics!!), became utterly resistant to every pick'n'mix remedy, underwent a a weird exclusion diet that was a big fail (because I was vegetarian and essentially starving and stressing myself *sigh*). Whole 30 eliminated the problem, particularly when I started taking in probiotics like bone broth, kombucha and fermented veggies. Just a bit of encouragement for you! Keep going!
