Kage
Hi, I made some Mexican mince chilli a few days ago and am wondering if it will still be ok to eat. I am usually an "eat it within 48 hours" girl but I know my Mum would keep leftovers longer than that. Need to plan something else for tomorrows lunch if I have to bin it!! Thanks

Thanks The smell test works wonders! But my guess would be a few days and your chili is just fine. I sometimes keep chills and casseroles in the fridge for a week once everything is cooked and have never had a problem with it.
jent103
Yep, I regularly keep things for a week. In the future, if that makes you nervous and you know you won't eat it all within ____ days, chili freezes really well.

Guest
I generally use meals with tomatoes and chiles within 4 or 5 days or freeze them. I mainly stick to this for all foods and love having a full freezer with a variety of foods to choose from!
Kage
Thanks Nico. I generally do freeze left overs but there was more there than I thought and I didn't end up finishing it yesterday.
