AllyB
I have a 3 pound grass fed beef heart that I'm would like to cook. I'm starting my second whole 30 and want to continue to expand the things I cook. With the last whole 30, I made some good stuff from short ribs and shanks. But I need a recipe . Anyone have any ideas?
livingseaside
I add ground beef heart to chili and tacos - replacing some of the ground muscle meat with the ground heart.
AllyB
Does it have a significantly different taste? I'm not a fan of gamey meats. Although I will eat our lamb meat. So I'm not too sensitive Thanks!
Moderators ultrarunnergirl Posted February 27, 2014 Moderators Share Posted February 27, 2014 Anticuchos are good. High heat, cook fast and short - on a grill on skewers, or in a cast iron pan. Don't overcook! Here is a recipe for the marinade I used. Pretty good - though beef heart takes a lot of trimming! http://www.food.com/recipe/peruvian-anticuchos-182583
livingseaside
Beef heart tastes extra beefy (a little gamey.) I use it in well-spiced meals like chili and tacos and replace only about half my regular ground beef with ground beef heart. My kids (teenagers) could not detect any change in my recipes.
