How long do you keep cooked meat & veg in fridge?

Growing up, I was taught to observe a 3-4 day window for foods once cooked.  Are people putting half their weekly cook-ups in the freezer, or just taking their chances that on day 6, all is well?

I put mine in the freezer because I get bored of the same food. That way I can have it next week.

I follow the 3-4 day rule.  I don't eat cooked foods that have been in the fridge for a week.

I cook up on Sunday and my last meal is Friday.  So about 5 days.

I'm weird about leftovers. I will eat them the next day, and on rare occasions the day after that (usually thanksgiving or christmas dinner leftovers) but otherwise I refuse to eat them past that. Things like chili and stew I will freeze and eat it weeks or months later, but I really hate anything else that's been cooked and then frozen. I don't do a weekly cookup. I tried it once. It was not good. Now I compromise by just chopping up all my veg into the shapes and sizes I like them (except onions) and storing them in ziplock bags in the fridge.

I go by smell, texture and taste. If it smells okay, the texture's good, and it tastes okay I eat it.

I'll do Sunday to Saturday for grilled chicken and hard boiled eggs.

Thanks for the answers!  I am getting more relaxed than I used to be regarding the 3-4 day rule, but am most comfortable when I eat within it.
