Lots of health issues, giving this a go

Hi,

I'm Mamie (may-me). I've such a laundry list of medical problems Drs have given up on me. I'm trying this program as a step one with a nutritionist/health advisor/ certified/ all natural lady. My Fiancee is gonna do it with me, I'm massively addicted to my cheeses so I know I wont be able to resist without his help. We're planning on starting with lent but I'm still trying to figure it all out. I'm really nervous about my acid reflux/GERD issues as the only things that have helped them in the last 8 years have been dairy or saltines (I'm not normal I know dairy is normally counter-helpful but it works for me). Here goes nothing...

Welcome! I also have acid reflux and I use digestive enzymes that help a lot. Also after my whole30 my acid reflux was gone, Yeah! The best advise I can give you is to plan your week. Have some recipes ready and maybe do a cook up on one day (see The Clothes Make The Girl blog) so that your meals are easier. Have some mini meals ready for those times when you want a piece of cheese (hard boiled eggs, compliant olives, salad). I don't know if you have the book, if not start here. http://whole30.com/new/. I am also including the links to the meal planning template http://whole30.com/downloads/whole30-meal-planning.pdf and the Can I Have post. http://whole30.com/2013/06/the-official-can-i-have-guide-to-the-whole30/.  Good Luck!

I am also starting with lent. My mother is doing it with me to support each other. She has acid reflux and rheumatoid arthritis.  I have high blood pressure and quite a bit of weight to lose.  What I want most though is to get my energy back and get back to the gym.  Yesterday we stocked the freezer and pantry. There are still a few off plan foods in there but what my kids don't know yet is when they are gone I won't be replacing them. I am really looking forward to this.
