Ok today's menu:

Sweet potato hash with 2 fried eggs.

Chicken thighs, side of oven roasted zucchini and carrots

Broccoli beef

So far 6 glasses of water.

So far so good except my health issues are flaring up something nasty today. I had a dentist appointment and learned another of my teeth is cracking all over. That makes 3 molars now. Not sure what's up with that!!

Ok so here's todays meal plan.. Kinda..

Breakfast was a simple ground beef and veggie hash, followed by raspberries and coconut.  I am VERY full right now.

Lunch - NOt sure yet.

Supper is going to be a roast chicken dinner, I should be able to do this and my family stay with their diet.

Yesterday was rough... I was So very sick...I learned at the dentist I now have 3 cracked molars, grocery shopping and afternoon was so frustrating my throat hurts, and I continued with my chronic diarrhea, the night ended with EVERY muscle in my body hurting, etc.

But the day had good successes too. I managed to stick to my Whole30 plan even though no one else in the house cared, I got the bathroom cleaned, bought a tonne of great veggies, only watched 45 minutes of TV, survived the dentist, and gotta do a little reading.

Not so bad if you look at it.

Today I found a bunch of new recipes.  Funny they appear really simple to make but have lots of flavor.  One thing I learned with this attempt is that I need to add flavor (spices, herbs, SALT).  This has not been hard at all... I am not saying I haven't had cravings (especially for dairy), but I seem to be transitioning a lot easier this time... :)

Ok, so had to goto emergency walk in today.. Turns out my headache was not a migraine but the beginning of a bunch of lymph node pain.. Lets just say I hurt everywhere.  Sadly, all I got was a requisition for bloodwork, and told to keep my appointment for tomorrow, because it is time to investigate further what is going wrong with me.

I need to learn to stop ignoring my problems.

Had a few times I thought I was hungry for a snack turned out I was just really thirsty.. Drank some water and I am back on track.

Probably going to take a nap today since, I had to take the day off due to pain.

Ok so supper was steak, green beans and tomatoes, with raspberries, coconut, and raw cashews.

My poops smell like olives. :(

And sadly remain too soft and runny.

As the day progressed the pain in what appeared to be my lymph nodes subsided but I couldn't nap. Still have some abdominal pain.

Dr. Appt tomorrow we shall see what next steps will be.

Wow, today I woke up so very nauseous. I don't even want to touch food. But I whipped up a butternut, apple, pancetta hash with spinach and got some of it down. The rest I put into a container to eat as a snack when my stomach felt it maybe able to take more food.

Lunch is leftovers.

Then I have a doctors appointment to continue to figure out what is wrong with me. May need to stop this goal depending on what my results show,

So today seemed to go ok...

2 hours after breakfast I finished the rest of breakfast.

3 hours after that I ate 1 egg and 6 olives

3 hours after that I ate my leftovers from last night... Full serving.   I haven't eaten since...

Migraine and body pain is still really bad... Dr. is testing me for Lyme, Celiac, Adrenal disfunction, autoimmune issues, fibromyalgia, and Fatigue Syndrome... Although he thinks there is something metabolic/body I am dealing with..

He says the "diet" idea is a good plan for now.. So long as I can handle the pain and discomfort I currently am suffering with.

Off to make my yummy shrimp supper..> Thanks for reading.

Today I am trying something different. I am going to eat breakfast at work. I get up really early 3 am, but eat supper at normal time, 6pm. This puts me in a weird position where my supper comes 8 to 9 after lunch depending on my hunger signals. Since I was and am nauseous in the morning, going to see if waiting until 6am to eat helps.

Today's menu:

Yummy shrimp dinner leftovers for breakfast.

If needed a snack of hard boiled egg and small quantity of olives.

Lunch is a stuffed acorn squash. Found a wonderful recipe online.

Supper is a whole mess load of chicken thighs and green bean medley of veggies.

Symptom wise, still waking up exhausted cause I am still having a hard time sleeping (last night didn't get to bed until 10 and took a lot of time falling asleep), insomnia sucks! Still have very soft stools, still dizzy, and still have a background headache. Appears my "period" started if you can call it that. And the "muscle" (body) pain has reduced.

My family is not doing whole30 and I almost subconsciously tasted the food I made for them (pancakes) yesterday. It's not so much the grains that is killing me, but the dairy. I swear everytime I open that fridge the milk, or yogurt, or ice cream, are yelling out my name!!!

Well gotta get ready for work.

Ok, so need to find a chicken thigh recipe as the one I had contained ingredients I don't have yet and I did not realize that.  I found another one, but it had a different limitation... GAH...

Takes too much time to have money to stock up on the flavoring ingredients.

Tom Denham has several chicken thigh recipes on his website at http://wholelifeeating.com

For finding recipes online I usually search with the ingredient and whole30. That should be safer but still people will put Whole30 when it isn't so still watch the ingredients. Good blogs for whole30 friendly foods are Stupid Easy Paleo, Clothes Make the Girl, and NomNomPaleo.

As to your question about food timing getting something in your body within an hour of waking is going to go a long way towards healing your digestive issues and hormones. I think this has been talked about with you on another thread but what I would suggest is maybe preparing your first meal before you go to bed and eat a little bit within an hour of getting up and eat the rest when you feel hungry again.

Addressing your sleep is probably a bigger issue. Are you getting up at 3am because of work? Prioritizing sleep such that you are at least trying to get 8 hours a night is really important. Eating in the morning is something else that has been shown to help with sleep. Stopping eating within 2 hours of your bedtime is another. If you are getting up at 3 you should be trying to go to bed at 7. This definitely starts with food but sometimes other things in our lifestyles need to change as well. I was chronically undersleeping for the first 3 or 4 years of my marriage and when I started to make sleep a bigger priority it made a huge difference in so many ways. If you are having trouble with falling asleep you can try taking natural calm (unflavored) or a magnesium spray/cream or an epson salt bath. Turn all screens (computers/tvs/phones/etc) off an hour before bed as the light from these effects cortisol levels, make your room as dark and cool as possible, and have some sort of routine for going to sleep. All these things have helped me. I know Tom Denham takes a time released melatonin to help fall asleep and stay asleep.

The sleep issues are part of the health problems. Usually I do goto bed at 7, but I ended up lying there until 9pm with insomnia.

As for planning eating to finish 2 hours before bed is not plausible as I don't get home to cook until 4 pm earliest it is ready is by 5:30/6:00 because I need to deal with my three children (one with special needs).

Right now it's "that time of the month". So that is greatly contributing to the migraine pain and symptoms.

Thanks for the link.

Tonite I went simple and made the BBQ Sauce in Well Fed 2. Had to skip a few ingredients but still tastes yummy.

Ok so on Day 5 hubby states he needs starch.

He is not doing Whoke30. Today he was complaining that it's gotten so bad he had to go out and buy a donut. And if course that was my fault.

I told him I can try to bulk make some starch he could eat on the side or he could make his own but I am already making 3 different meals every night I could not see why he could not deal with it. We have buns.

That I think is my only issue right now. It takes a lot of extra time to eat this way. I am not really complaining cause making the food results in me truly enjoying it in the end, but hubby not so much.

These are not the flavors he is used to. Stop making this kind of food.

This is really bothering me tonite. :(

I feel your pain. My husband is the poster child for SAD eating. Luckily he doesn't get bored with the same stuff all the time and most of what he regularly wants is really easy for me to make. Don't let him tell you his poor food choices (donuts) are your fault though. He is a grown up and he can make his own decisions. You didn't make him eat a donut. Vegetables have starch too. This is where I would tell him that you really need to do this for yourself and see it through and that you really need his support. Hang in there. I know it is hard when you are trying to meet so many demands. At some point you might just need to lay down the law though and say that there are two choices for dinner, take it or leave it. That is what my mother always told us growing up.

Well today I think I rocked supper kinda!!

I found a recipe in the forum for sweet and sour sauce and used that to cook the pork loin and he seemed happy... That was supported with an egg, asparagus, and avocado.

I am still doing my small bowl of fruit with supper, but not with every meal any more, I am actually not craving it.

I am not surprised by this since I usually crave salt, and sweet things truly turn me off.

I am going to go forward, although there are many times I get tempted to trip up.. Tonite made pasta for everyone else, had to use my son to test if it was fully cooked... Almost did it but I controlled myself.

Tomorrow's breaky is going to be interesting as I usually have enough leftovers for breakfast and then have whipped up a full lunch, but today did not work out that way.. :(

Looks like sweet potato hash with fried egg.  Not my first choice, but groceries are starting to dwindle.

I am looking forward to tomorrow, as I will be cooking up my artichoke and eating it with ghee and lemon juice... YUM!!!  That is a me only treat...

Thanks for all your support and cheering.

Today is another bad pain day.. Every muscle in my body is aching or charlie horsing...  I am also VERY stressed... Someone screwed me over at work (at least it feels that way to me).

Funnily enough I am not hungry.. But I am angry and frustrated and yes once again.. Desperate for the glass of milk to calm me down..

I am going through a bad FRUIT craving.. Actually bought raspberries and a banana to eat before I realized I cannot eat that stuff except a small amount at dinner... :(

Very bad pain day... I think this is contributing to stuff, as my body is desparately searching for ways to alleviate the discomfort through foods.. Although if advil doesn't work I highly doubt that food will make me feel any better...

Save me!!!

Hang in there. Things often get worse before they get better. Focus on good food and as much rest as you can get. When dealing with fruit cravings feed them with protein and fat if you are truly hungry. If you are not find something else to do and distract yourself. Your body is making a last ditch effort to get quick carbs because that is what it is used to burning for energy. This too shall pass just don't give in.

Ok on we go. Hubby treatede to shopping at Whole Foods so got some flavoring agents I couldn't get elsewhere. Had yummy scallops and artichoke and roasted cauliflower for supper. Breaky was an odds and sods hash since I do groceries on Ssturday. Totally stocked up on a variety of meats today, renewed our costco membership since meat is much cheaper there. Hoping I have about 2-3 weeks worth.

Pain is not subsiding. Not surprised though, it was there before I started and sometimes healing takes time.

I have more tests on Monday to figure out the cause. Slowly my family is adapting to my new eating patterns, working around me and adapting my meals to suit their needs.

Learned I don't like smoked paprika. But learned how to make a simple orange sauce, too bad it was ruined by the paprika:

http://m.wholefoodsmarket.com/recipe/seared-scallops-blood-orange-and-smoked-paprika-sauce

I might try this again later, I used ghee instead of butter and everything worked fine and since you only eat a tablespoon per serving it works well with this process. But hey never got to eat the sauce... Scallops were tasty!!

Ummm. That is it for today.

Ok did a yummy hash for breakfast. I think since I somehow missed lunch yesterday my body got out of whack as I was hungry at 10/11. So I had a simple hard boiled egg, 6 olives, and a small bowl of raspberries, coconut and cashews.

Generally I have a small bowl of fruit or have some fruit in a sauce, but minimal fruit in my diet. It feels weird to feel ashamed of eating healthy fresh fruit, and yet here we are. I feel ashamed.

I think the hardest part of this process is fighting the urge to lick my fingers while I make everyone else food.

Ended up with a tuna salad with olive oil and balsamic. And some nuts as a snack.

Supper was roast chicken dinner.

Pain has been manageable today. And I got a brief nap. Pretty weird dreams though. None about food though.

Ok up early, need to go for bloodwork in 45 minutes cannot eat anything.

But on a lighter note I think this morning was the closest I have come to a "normal" bowel movement in a long time.

Very sore again today though.

Will come back and post after I have done my AM tests and have eaten.
