scooper08
I'm just wondering what "limit" actually means. I've been eating a serving of cashews of every day with my lunch and probably 2-3 pieces of fruit every day, like melon, a banana, and an apple. Are other people cutting fruit completely or eating less than that? I just feel like "limit" is a little to vague for me! Help?

Carlaccini
A serving of nuts is a closed handful. Fruit consumption should be 1 - 2 /day. I notice days that I am more active I push it to 3 (and I don't beat myself up about it) some days I just want 1 fruit. Basically the idea is not to go crazy with the fruit. Also - go easy on the nuts. They cause bloating and distress for many. So just be aware on how your body is reacting. If you are finding yourself bloated very often, having bathroom issues - drop them for a few days, then re-intro them and see how you react. Mom2A&M
I personally don't eat many nuts because they are disruptive to my digestion, so if I'm at a loss for added fat then maybe I'll add a handful. It's probably once a week tops. Fruit I limit to a few pieces a week because I'm really dedicated to calming my sugar demons. I think "limit" means, your better off choosing a healthier fat option, but nuts are better than having no added fat. (Still vague!) and fruit is 1-2 per day WITH a meal so maybe work on keeping it to 2 servings and not 3. Just some thoughts!
scooper08
Thanks! Sorry for all the typos in my previous post! After today (lunch is already packed ), I'll eliminate my cashew habit and try to keep my fruit down to one banana a day. I am normally very active, and I'm about 12 days in and am starting to see better results in my fitness levels. Thanks again!
Robin Strathdee
If you're very active, there's really no reason to actively restrict fruit. Have a couple of pieces a day - maybe more if its fresh and in season.
