lujo238
I just found out we are having company on Monday. My mother told them we are having corned beef and cabbage. It seems most store bought has sugar in it. I found a recipe that requires brining for 5 days but I don't have 5 days. Does anyone have a shorter recipe or know a store brand that is compliant? At this point you may want to make regular corned beef for the family and eat something else yourself. Maybe shepherds pie with cauliflower mash. The only compliant one I know of is US Wellness meats and they are out of stock.
Moderators Tom Denham Posted March 15, 2014 Moderators Share Posted March 15, 2014 A longer brine just means that more of the salt infuses the meat. A two or three day soak in salty water will still give you good flavor.
